SOLD SOLD: 18" SL 2 Piece AMG / BBS Wheels - Set

All,

Once again although I am more of the buy and hold kind of guy since I do not anticipate ever putting them back on my 500E I have decided to offer up my set of SL 2 Piece (for the right price of course).

After refinishing they were installed on my car for less than 200 miles when the restoration was finished back in 2016 (see pics below). I swapped them out for the EVO II's shortly thereafter that have been on it ever since. I had the tires dismounted shortly there after and the wheels have been stored in boxes ever since. They are in perfect condition (where on the car less than 200 miles)

Also this set has had 5MM machined off the rear centers increasing the offset from ET25 to ET30. This results in the wheel not quite sticking out as far as they normally do on the 500E. The change is subtle but I think it looks better as it tucks in the wheel well just slightly. Equally important there are absolutely no rubbing or clearance issues (Note: I am running SL600 rear brakes and had the standard 275/35 tire mounted on them).

Given both the rarity and condition I'm asking $3,600 for the set + actually shipping costs. In addition I have one spare front and rear (with stock 25MM offset) that were both refinished at the same time and have never had tires mounted on them. I will give the buyer of the set the option to purchase those as well for $1,800 but if they decide they don't want them I will let them go separately. As far as payment goes I will accept Cash, Wire Transfer or PayPal for payment. Lastly to avoid the time and hassle I would prefer to sell them to someone here in the states but I will consider selling them internationally if the buyer coordinates the shipping

If you are interested please shoot me a PM but please do so only if you are serious. Also I'm not going to "hold" them for anyone, take payments, or entertain any other hair brained ideas. If you want them and have the $$$, great. If not they will stay marinating in my inventory. Other than that please let me know if you have any questions.

SOLD (Including spares)

...and I'm already having seller's remorse (seriously). :-(

Jeawan (G2NY),

Thank you again and as I mentioned, I'm very happy to see these wheels going to another board member / 500E Enthusiast. If you don't mind, please post some pics of your car after you get them put on.

Eric, my condolences on the sale. :) If I had the spare $$$, I'd have loved to snag these.

Question - with 5mm machined off the rear, don't you need to also trim 3-5mm off the lug bolts used in the rear, to avoid contact with parking brake bits?

If you ever think you might part with the spare 10" wheel, I'll be first in line. I need one 10"er to fill out my staggered set...

Great purchase, best....

Nope, again no issues whatsoever Dave. Like I said the 5mm difference is just enough for the wheel to line up just a hair inside the wheel well which to me is perfect.

On that note I ran 12MM spacers on the fronts (per captruff's recommendation) which push those out where they looked consistent with the rears (see my pic in first listing taken at an angle from the front left side).

Jeawan,

I forgot to tell you about the 12MM spacers for the front wheels. I borrowed them from member captruff for my car but given you bought all 6 wheels from me if I can find them tomorrow I am going to throw them in. Again I feel they are essential for the perfect front and rear balance

Same story with the lugs. Pretty sure I put them in one of the boxes with the wheels. I will confirm in the morning when I go pick them up. Even though I could still use those I will send you those as well.

Thank you Eric! I loved the fitment on your car...I would like to replicate exactly the same look. I look forward to hearing from you. Have a great day :)

Jeawan,

Good new and bad news.

The Good - As I mentioned previously I picked up all the wheels Saturday morning. I double boxed all of them and they are ready to go and based on PayPal that looks like it will be Wednesday at the latest

77554

The Bad - Unfortunately, neither the lug bolts or the spacers were in any of the boxes. About a year or so ago I let a friend take the wheels to have the tires dismounted and I think during that process somehow the lug bolts and spacers got misplaced. Given the circumstances and that you bought all 6 wheels from me, I'm going to send you back $100 so you can order these H&R spacers:

As far as the lug bolts go, given your current wheels there is probably a pretty good chance the set you have on your car right now will work fine with the SL 2 piece. Just make sure they are ball seat and not cone seat (which they most likely are) and that when you put them on you get at least 6 full turns (by hand) with each bolt before you torque them. If by chance you don't get 6 turns (especially on the fronts with the spacers). I would recommend the following outfit for new bolts:

https://otisincla.com/product-categ...at-rad-lug-bolts/m12x1-5-lug-bolts-ball-seat/

As you will see they have many options for lengths and based on my previous experience they are good quality

Thank you Eric!!!! I will definitely test fit the lugs I have...I ended up buying a new set

Here she is guys!!! Thank you Eric for all your help and advise once again!! This wheel and tire combination ( Michelin P4S 245/40/18 and 275/35/18) makes the car much more enjoyable to drive.
