Started my M275 swap - question about steering box

Hey guys, just started my M275 swap. My 3.4 AMG engine was pulled this morning, and I see that the OEM steering box might be in the way of the V12, and I wanted to get ahead of the potential problem. Can you guys tell me if the V8 W124 steering box more compact or mounted in a different location?

Sadly, no... same location, similar size. Converting to rack & pinion (if needed) opens a sizable can of worms.

A 3.4 amg in a w124 was it? What engine was that?

What are your plans for the m275 engine management and ignition control? Excellent swap will follow with interest!
