Started my M275 swap - question about steering box

Hey guys, just started my M275 swap. My 3.4 AMG engine was pulled this morning, and I see that the OEM steering box might be in the way of the V12, and I wanted to get ahead of the potential problem. Can you guys tell me if the V8 W124 steering box more compact or mounted in a different location?

Sadly, no... same location, similar size. Converting to rack & pinion (if needed) opens a sizable can of worms.

Came out of my 1992 300ce AMG Euro Spec from Germany. Will be selling the engine, the five-speed transmission, and the rear end on MB marketplace very soon.

Running the M275 factory ECU and TCU. The Mercedes Sap Shop turns the factory ECU into a standalone and Sound German Automotive does the same for the TCU. My donor car is a SL65.

Wow! The SL65’s motor is a monster @ 608HP/738#TQ. I also would like to follow this build.
