Probably not a good idea to use the word "Tsar" in regards to the current situation.....
Ron

I thinks what's gotta happen here ... is we have to leave the administration of the site to the Administrators. This is not a democracy -- they make it available for our use at THEIR discretion. So that's point #1.
This might mean that I may have to go to MBworld to find a 500E.......probably with Lambo doors![]()

I think that's an important point to bring up to the discussion.Does this mean that the parchment/mushroom debate/discussion can continue?
Just a little humor.
When a more permanent structure is put into place with regard to ownership and governance of this resource, then it is certainly something that can and perhaps should be discussed. But I have no need for funds for this site, and there is no pressing cost that would require a funding drive. An excellent choice.
As you have mentioned before.... you will not accept any funds.
May respectfully suggest in light of the current and future demands that you reconsider?
Perhaps a funding drive which I, as I am sure many others, would be happy to contribute. But I only speak for myself when it comes to parting with money. Actually Joanna speaks for me mostly, but that's another story....

Aye,lets mind our own "business" and see how we can make this forum better.
That's fair enough input. I'll try to make sure that I keep Ron in check when he puts down BW 126 forum and some of its more notorious membersGerry, I'd like to add a point to 1, we as members here should also not denigrate other forums or their members.

Keep up the good work Gerry and Dave!
Since the w124 034 and 036 is such a fine piece of engineering,
it would be a shame if the best engineered forum for it would disappear.

We could use you more around here Bryan! I haven't made it over to Austin for some months now but I will let you know next time I'm in town ... hopefully we can grab some good BBQ.Gerry - i don't hang out here as often as I would like but you efforts do not go unnoticed and are much appreciated.
Love the homage to Scott RUN.EXE!
Let me know if there is anything I can assist with.
It was just announced that Leonard Nimoy died today, at 83 years old.Breaking news from Starfleet Command...

It's coming up on Saturday, May 23. More information at this link. When is this Centerville GTG?
Thanks for the kind words, Joe.Gerry,
First I want to thank you for all you have done over the years, including one-on-ones with me on different issues.
And I am sorry to hear that some folks have been abusing the rules. And I understand your reluctance to continue in the face of a personal devotion unappreciated.
Still, I and others who love these cars would be bereft of excellent information and contacts about them if you shut the board down.
Empathize with your feelings about what's been going on, but would truly miss your expertise and the input from other owners.

At some point I'm going to have to pull that hanging thread and see where it takes me. That's sort of my mindset at the moment, after about 6.5 years of owning and running this forum.

On the surface while that is interesting, after further investigation I do not see any tangible benefit to doing so. It's significantly more cost and administrative workload, with no clear end benefit to either myself or the members of the forum.
I have given some thought and had some consultations about forming an LLC (limited liability corporation) as a business entity around the forum.

Hello Guest !
We wanted to let you know about a new resource that is now available to all 500Eboard members. This is a comprehensive database of all US-market (and soon to include Canadian-market) 500E and E500 models delivered for the 1992 through 1994 model years.
Data for this resource has been compiled continuously since mid-2003, and much of this information is seeing the light of day for the very first time ever. This new resource will allow you to utilize 500Eboard research and resources to track specific cars, their sale history, documented modifications, and other information that has surfaced over the years.
We are also providing analytics about the cars' production. This means that if you are curious as to how many "Signal Red" cars were produced for the US market with a black interior, specifically in Model Year 1993, you can now easily find this information. You can also find aggregated information -- for example, how many "Black Pearl" cars were imported into the US over the three-year span.
You can always find and enjoy this resource by clicking here (bookmark the site for easy reference!), or by going to the “500Eboard Registry and VIN Database” sub-forum below. You can also find a VIN Database button at the top of your screen, for easy access.
We hope you enjoy this resource. A LOT of blood, sweat and tears over nearly 23 years have gone into its creation.
Cheers,
500Eboard Management
