Turn Signal Stuck On

Two weeks ago my right turn signal assembly fell off while driving. The bulb broke in the process so I bought two new front turn single assemblies and a front right bulb that I installed and put it back in the car. Ever since then when I turn my headlights on the right blinker is stuck in the permanently on position. The right turn signal indicator is lit up on the dash and the front and rear turn signals are stuck on the on, or brightest position. Obviously I affected something when I installed that new right front turn signal bulb, but I have no idea how to fix this. Has anybody experienced this before? Thanks in advance.

That is bizarre. What happens if you unplug the right front blinker? Does the dash indicator (and rear) stick "on" and not blink, or does it blink normal (or fast)?

:scratchchin:

If you tighten the turn signal bulb too far into the socket the light will stick in the on position. I would remove and reinstall the bulb. This happened to me in the past month.

Thanks for the replies.

I unplugged the front right blinker and the left blinker as you would imagine blinks normally but the right side blinks very fast. I unscrewed the bulb and put it back more gently but it did not have any effect. I also replaced the front and rear right side blinker bulbs with spares to make sure that didn’t cause some electrical issue and that had no effect as well.

I also checked the fuse and the relay, and both appear to be fine. Is there any chance the right turn signal wiring and socket could be causing the problem? I did not realize the turn signal assembly had fallen off and I drove about 45 minutes with the right turn signal bulb and assembly slapping on the side of the car. I’m fortunate, I really don’t have any damage. But could those parts be damaged and causing the problem?

One other item I forgot to mention. When I turn on the parking lights when the key is not in the ignition only the right side turns on, the left does not. I am very confused.

How did you check the relay? Do you have a spare to swap out?

Another dumb question... is the bulb correct? Maybe check both sides and verify they are the same.

I'm running low on ideas.
