US 400E FGS valve body into late 500E RoW transmission

I have a chance to purchase a FGS VB sourced from '93 US market 400E from one of the fellow board members. I read most, if not all, of the threads about swaps but still feel confused if it will fit without intermediate plate into my car... I have early RoW 500E with late transmission - it was replaced in 2000 by dealership in Germany as per documents I have. Her is my transmission:



And here is the VB I'd like to purchase:



Can I install it in with existing intermediate plate or I need 400E plate?

That's an early 400E VB, per the part number. I've had both intermediate plates on top of each other and couldn't find any difference. I'd give it a try and see what happens. So far, nobody has reported any problems if the VB doesn't match the intermediate plate.

FYI, the 034 and 036 transmissions use the same intermediate plates, there's just a serial number break between early and late. Still not sure of the exact difference.

EDIT: Before installing the VB, remove all the side plates and check for any broken springs. New K1/K2 valves doesn't hurt either.

For what it's worth and I know my R129 is not .036, but being 1995, it uses later style transmission (94-95 specific) and I have early 400E FGS valve body in it, no issues (no plates were exchanged, just the VB).

For those who may come across this thread - this VB is simple P&P swap with late transmission one. I just replaced it and all I have to do is to adjust the modulator a tad to get gear change a little smoother.
