VERY SHORT LOGGED-ON PERIOD ALLOWANCE ?

I'm wondering if anyone can help? The duration between my logging-on and being logged off has always been (at least for me) extremely short. I have never actually timed it, but I would guess it's not more than 5 minutes. If I'm writing a fairly long response to a thread, inevitably I get logged off before I've finished, necessitating me to log back in before I can send the reply!

This becomes particularly frustrating when trying to upload pictures (which by its nature is a fairly lengthy procedure), and which necessitates several re-logging ins before the job is complete.

Is this peculiar to me, or does anyone else experience this? Is there a way of lengthening the logged-in duration?

Many thanks.

Stephen

This is a browser issue or one with your settings of your browser. The forum sets a persistent cookie (particularly if you check the small box at the top of the screen under your name and password) and it should always work even across sessions, and browser starts and stops. You should NEVER have to re-log-in unless you've specifically logged out of the forum.

A few other folks have had this login persistence issue over the years, and generally it has been due to browser settings or using an outdated browser. I recommend using Firefox or Google Chrome with the site for best results. And, making sure that cookie settings (at least for the cookies that this site sets) are appropriate, and that the check-box is ticked at the top of the screen when you initially log in.

Cheers,
Gerry
