WANTED WANTED - Neutral Safety Switch 0005456206

The neutral safety switch used on the 500E and E500 was specific to a fairly narrow range of cars -- specificaly those with V-8 engines and the Bosch LH injection system....although it was used on a couple of other models with V-12 and inline-six engines.
Here are the North American Mercedes-Benz models that these 500E/E500 neutral safety switches were used in.
I do not see the W140 300SE included in this list; only a couple of R129 and W124 six-cylinder models. The eight- and 12-cylinder W140 models of this era did use this neutral safety switch, however.
It appears that your car, if it is a 140.033 or close variant chassis, would utilise the part number 000 545 49 06.
This part also seems to have been discontinued by MB. You can seemingly find them for sale on places like eBay, though
If you provide your exact VIN number, we can specify the exact and "for sure" part number for your car.

I do not see the W140 300SE included in this list; only a couple of R129 and W124 six-cylinder models. The eight- and 12-cylinder W140 models of this era did use this neutral safety switch, however.
- The 722.365 was the original 500E transmission introduced with the 1992 model year.
- Around October 1992, Mercedes updated the 500E/E500 to the 722.370, which incorporated several internal improvements and became common with the W140 S500. EPC data often shows the 722.370 for the 500E/E500.
- 722.364 is mechanically very similar to the 722.365/370 but calibrated specifically for the lighter R129 SL chassis.
- 722.362 is unique to the V12 cars. Although externally similar, it has a much stronger torque converter and internal clutch packs to cope with the M120's torque.
- 722.366 is essentially the 4.2-liter version used behind the M119.971 in the S420.
