When is Centerville MB meeting this year?

Tenth Annual Texas Mercedes-Benz Owners GTG - Saturday May 23, 2015

2015 will mark the Tenth Annual MB Owners GTG in Centerville. It's kind of hard to believe it's been going on this long. It seems like it just got started!

Since this will be the Tenth Annual MB Owners GTG, I'll be working to make this one more special than years past. I've got about six months to work on it!

For those of you who are new to this GTG, caravans leave from Houston, the DFW area, San Antonio, and the Austin area, and meet in Centerville at noon at Woody's Smokehouse just east of I-45 for a BBQ lunch. The private dining room at Woody's will be reserved for us, as will the parking lot on the side. There will be signs directing us. After lunch, we'll head down to Fort Boggy State Park for the Show and Shine. The pavilion at Fort Boggy will be reserved for our group. Admission to Fort Boggy is free. Show and Shine Awards will be given out based on People's Choice for best Vintage Model (Pre 1980), Best 1980s Model "Young Classics", Best 1990s Model, and Best 2000-present Model.

If you want to bring parts to sell or trade, please feel free to do so.

Mark your calendars now!

Departure Points:
(If you are coming from a town not listed below, (ex: Beaumont, Tyler, etc...) and you are interested in setting up a caravan if you expect 2 or more other vehicles to come along, send me a private message so we can get something set up. Really?

No date or time. You guys want me to speed more time on peach parts and MBworld?

Michael
Michael, yes Benzworld has a new V-8 W124 board and it's where all the cool kids are hanging out these days.

I'm planning to be at the Centerville gathering, and will pick up the Houston caravan, per usual, when it passes the Woodlands heading north on I-45. Should I bring the G, the E5er, or the SEC?

Maybe my daughter will drive one..... well it looks like I get t see pictures again, maybe next year!!:motor:

I'm not a hipster even though some would disagree with my record collection.

TxBrit- Want to meet up and drive down?

The DFW group tends to meet at the Loves truck stop in Hutchens. We usually caravan for about 50 or miles and then the fast cars break away.
Last year it was me in my 84 500SL, Darrel in his 560SEC and a kid in a tweak 300CD that peeled away and started having some fun.

It's a nice event, I'd like to drive the back roads back to Dallas on the next event as I've heard that's is a good drive from prior attendees.

That hipster kid's 300CD was awesome. I bet even the notorious 123-despiser gsxr would have gotten a semi-woody seeing it.....

All, as a quick reminder, It's the week after next on the 23rd May. Look forward to seeing you.

Didn't see any other 500Eboard members at the gathering this year except Alabbasi, but the turnout was decent. Didn't seem to be anyone from the Austin/San Antonio area this time around, though.

Some angry skies on the drive back home down I-45 to Houston.

While competition was incredibly stiff. My 98 SL500 won best in show for 90's model Mercedes Benz.

yea, lol pics or you just bought that trophy at a pawn shop... hahahahah

Haha! actually the comment was tongue in cheek as my car was the only 90's era MB at the event. But i think that there's at least a 50% chance of it winning if there was another :)

It's a 98 SL500 and it was covered in a thick layer of road dirt as we had torrential rain all the way down. I'll get pictures of the event posted today.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to be there (to show folks what REAL MB OE 126 upper control arms look like) as I'll be on a plane to London that day. Hope everyone has tons o'fun !!

Ugh and I have arranged for two cars to be there, perhaps a surrogate could attend with one of yours?
