Where to get wiring repairs? NA Great Lakes

Anyone in or near the Ohio/Great Lakes region that knows a reputable location to do wiring repairs for the interior climate control/center console etc? I have an 87 300D Turbo with 225k miles!

What exactly needs to be re-wired in a 1987 300D? I own a couple of those. Might be easier to replace the harness in question, depending on what exactly is damaged.

Since this is a diesel and not a 500E-specific thread, it is getting moved to Off-Topic.

Center console wiring is damaged from I don't know what, it's been like that since I got it. Climate Control, Stereo Head Unit, rear defrost do not work, so yes I'd say it needs replaced. I was thinking about Wire Wizards. They redid the interior wiring on a friends E38 and did a pretty good job. I didn't think this would be off topic since the 500E/400E have similar interior climate control and wiring. I shouldn't have disclosed my vehicle lol, this thread has a higher chance of just getting buried now.

Any 1987 car is going to have different (though generally similar) wiring as a later car, due to ongoing changes in the production cycle. There are actually quite a few running changes even in the 500E and E500 wiring in the three years they were imported to the US, as evidenced by different wiring harnesses, etc.

While you're 100% welcome to ask questions and participate here, for diesel W124 models, it's probably better to go to Benzworld or PeachParts, as this is a VERY specialized forum on the V-8 W124 models, with a smidge of 126 and G-wagen thrown in for good measure. Far less expertise here on the diesel W124s.

Contact Carr's Automotive in Warren. Ask for Frank he runs the place. Small, out of the way shop, but when you turn the corner, pull into the parking lot, and see all the 80's and 90's Benzes you'll know you're at the right place.

And if Frank can't help you ask him for a referral. And if Frank doesn't have a referral, hit me up and I'll give you a 2nd choice, but it will be in Columbus.
