Will these fit a W124?

Found these EVO II looking wheels locally. I'm going to look at them tonight because the guy does not know the offset but they came off a 1998 CLK320. Wondering if they will fit my 500E or W124 Wagon. Looks like a good deal if I can use them.

Wheels w/ tires - Four '98 Mercedes OEM Chrome - $1000 (Tualatin, OR)

Four OEM chrome wheels with Cooper Zeon 235/40/17 tires. Fits a '98 Mercedes CLK 320 Also have one brand new Hankook spare tire 235/40/17 Four tires 100% tread - one tire 95% tread. ​

If they are the factory accessory wheels for 170, 202, 208, 210 that they appear to be, they are 37 mm offset.

The 7.5 Evo's WILL NOT fit on the 500E, they will not clear any front brakes larger than 295mm diameter.

Seriously, you need something like 20mm spacers to make these clear larger brakes, making the effective offset ET17. On a standard 124, there would be clearance issues. On the 036, the wheel is just too narrow...

The 7.5 Evo's WILL NOT fit on the 500E, they will not clear any front brakes larger than 295mm diameter.

I'm actually thinking more for the wagon than the 500E so that is good to know. Hopefully the offset is marked on the wheels.

There are only two versions of factory Evo wheels and there are very few replicas. The tire looks like it has to pull inward to the wheel with only a 235 tire. I'd almost guarantee these are the 7.5 ET37 version. Should be MB part number, size, offset, etc on the back side.

I remember when you could buy the Titanium finish 7.5 Evos for under two hunnert bucks, brand new from the dealer.... sigh.

Yeah, 7.5" is indeed a bit narrow for the 500e. Hell, I even think 8.25" is a bit undersized. If I could find a nice set of non-fugly, 17"x9" & 10" staggered, lightweight wheels for under $7-800 I'd be a very happy man.

There are very few wheels which meet those criteria, even if you expand your search to include 18" (and toss out the price requirement). For ride comfort and reduced rubber cost, I'd still prefer 17's. Damn shame there's basically nothing available besides the crack-prone AMG 3-piecers, and those are porky at 25lbs each, besides the $2k cost if you can find 'em.

Yep. The C36 has 320mm fronts. The 7.5 Evos won't fit without J-sauce approved spacers for caliper clearance.

37 offset with 7.5-inch width will work on the wagon. Remember that offset is dependent on width!!

Here is a shot of my wagon with Evo 2 reps. I recently had these refinished. They are 17x7.5 et30. I had to get my rear fenders rolled as there was a tiny amount of rubbing. No issues at all since having them rolled. 225/45/17 tires.

I think the stock set at et37 would be 100% bolt on and go.

37 just like Dave predicted. Real Mercedes EVO's. Tires are like brand new. Not brand I would normally buy but I'll take them.

Congratulations! that's an excellent wheel and it works fabulously on a whole host of models. I am currently in possession of three of those wheels. I need to score another for myself one of these days. I have two cars that those would work and look great on.

Note that both Daves predicted the offset for you...

Great purchase, he sure did come down on the price. Coopers are a decent brand, made in the USA if I recall correctly. I just bought a new set of them myself to go with the Evo II wheels I bought last week, though I haven't received them yet. They're the RS3-S, and they're supposed to be nice and sticky.

On the price my moto is the reason God made gentiles is because someone has to pay list. I'm happy with the deal and tickled to find a set locally.

If the chrome is in good shape, I'd leave it alone. The cost to remove and refinish would be prohibitive, almost to the point of it being cheaper to buy new Evos instead (the 7.5's are still available new). Titaniums are ~$250 each now, High Sheen are ~$350 each, from the discount dealers.

He replaced the interior with black! Looks way cool, IMO...

Greg- we just got around to installing black 500e seats in the wagon and are in the process of swapping the entire interior to black. Manual trans swap has been shelved in favor of the 3.6 twin turbo engine and 722.6 that was advertised by Joe on the forum here. I hope to pick up drivetrain later in November. Big plans for 2015!
