WANTED WTB: (E)500(E)

Hi,

I just joined the board recently, and I am very interested in buying a 500E. This is a car I have admired since they were new and is on a short list of "dream cars" for me. I've had a few 201 and 124s and have enjoyed them all. I currently drive a '94 E320 with 50k miles on it, and that's really my daily driver at least 4 days a week.

I am looking for any color but black really (although I will consider black if it's an exceptional car). I am more than willing to pay extra for a low mileage example or one with great maintenance history. I appreciate well maintained cars and I think it's fair to compensate the owner for that. I don't have any particular budget in mind (of course I want to pay whatever is fair for the car I find)

I'm in Fairfax VA, and I'm willing to take a road trip for this car. I bought my current E320 in Chicago a few years ago and drove her back overnight. I am often in Boston, New York, San Francisco, and LA. So those cities would be ideal.

Any help is most appreciated. I am not a window shopper. If I find a car I like, I will bring my checkbook with me.

Although I can't really help you with finding your dream car, I *can* tell you that you're in for a treat when you finally find it. The step from any ordinary W124 to the E500E is huge.

Just a bump if anyone knows of a car or is thinking of selling his/her car.

My E320 just turned 53k miles this morning, so I would like to have a 500e that isn't too far away from that in mileage. Definitely under 90k. Ideally a lighter color, but I'm flexible on that.

I'm willing to pay decent money ($20-25k) for a nice one, maybe even $30k, but not much beyond that. I'm a serious buyer, so I would want to deal with someone who is actually serious about selling, not just feeling the market out.

I will travel for the right car and I have funds available immediately for this.

Yep, I have been checking that regularly. Teal is probably the one color I don't want, unfortunately.

This board has been a fantastic resource. I can't wait to eventually get one of these cars.

I know you don't want the teal, but the Burlingame, CA example seems very clean and they're asking $11k FWIW.

Wow... yea just realized that I had not heard that you had found one yet. Well, hurry up with that....will be nice to have another .036 in the Northern VA area
