Rear view mirror - interior. Today I reached up to adjust the mirror and crap! The mirror had sort of exploded around the dimming lever on the back of the mirror (closest to the windshield). Then I noticed the debris scattered around. No idea when / how this happened. Anyone have one?

If the bracket is in good condition, I will buy it from you

But.... hey! Dibs eh?

Once you replace your rear view mirror, I would be interested in purchasing your broken one, but I just need the bracket and the rubber needs to be in excellent condition. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

On that note, maybe you should consider updating to a auto dimming mirror with Homelink and a compass (hint)

Sorry 2phast! I misread the intent. I'll send it to you for cost of postage, after Jeff's mirror arrives. If the bracket is the piece which mounts on the headliner, so far it's OK. Somehow I thought that the auto dimming mirror was only for 126's. If Jeff's mirror 'splodes at some point I'll hit you up for one of your mirrors. It may take me a while to receive and install his, I'll let you know.

I will have to research the board to see how the mirror comes off.....

The mirror is held to the roof panel by two spring loaded wedges that hold to a bracket/casting. The spring loaded wedges are part of the mirror assembly so it will be obvious when you have it in your hand. To remove requires nothing but a hard pull. Installation is a VERY hard slap to the base which is safer with gloves and can be a bit difficult due to angle and position.

Good lord, please, no slapping of the base to install. Watch this video

You can easily make the tool shown in my video, this is the simplest method for installing the mirrors.
