WANTED Power side view mirror harness left and right

I'm looking for a power side view mirror harness for both the passenger and driver side, although I think it's just one. It can be NOS or used in good condition. Let me know if you guys have one available or have any leads on one.

Thanks in advance!

I believe it's a single harness. On USA-spec 124 chassis, this was standard equipment as of 1993 model year.

It's also a massive PITA to extract the stupid thing. I did it once like 15 years ago... IIRC you have to remove both front seats, center console, and main carpet... then it's not easy to get the darn thing out of the cable trays and doors, it's intertwined quite well.

You could try pinging @david hendy and see if he can get one for you.

:apl:

Well damn. I spent a good 30 mins taking apart the 1994 E320 today and did not get the harness. A bit of a fail- but I wanted to show why.

The wires for the mirror adjustment go under the seat, so I would definitely need to take both seats out. On both, the bolts were not well exposed in the back and that can take about an hour to get the back two bolts on each seat off (either building the right extension or by destroying the seat). I hate when people park the car with the seat down to the floor.

But I kept going anyways and got the harness out of the door and it separates into two parts. One is purple, white, black and goes under the seat (and BTW, those wires are combined with a massive bundle of wires and tesa taped). But then there is also wires going to the front. A brown, black, and red.

Given what I ran into, I would just use pigtails and make your own harness. You are NOT going to want to break apart the existing harness to retrofit this anyways. If you pull the wiring diagram (ex in ETM), you should be able to see what each of the wires is doing and why some were going to the front.

Wish I had better news 😢 But it was super hot out today and I moved onto other parts after that 30 mins of investigation

Thank you so much for giving it a try!

I removed the door mirror harness for use in the 190E. It DID require removing both front seats, and the console, along with the carpeting, kick panels, and other things.

I would think it would take two trips to the donor car, along with dogged determination.

Since I was completely disassembling the car, in a safe contained space, I was able to spend the time to remove the entire harness in one piece.
