Looking to buy both front door seal and boot. Actually already bought but didn't realise i bought the ones for 1988 / preface-lift make.

Perhaps others chime in but the seals are the same IIRC. The thickness of the glass changed, so if your are talking about pressed in seals around the door and the boot, then that should be the same from 92-95....IMO. Have you tried the door? I let my epc lapse or I would check.

124-720-05-78 is for very early 124 chassis, up to A210852, which is roughly early 1986 production. I didn't realize the seals changed. You want 124-720-11-78 and 124-720-12-78. Both are available new from the dealer, but the price is nuts... $745/$660 USD list price, respectively.

Boot lid seal is 124-750-03-98 as of chassis A561621, roughly early 1988 USA model year production (late 1987 calendar year production). This is also available new from the dealer, $458 USD list, ~$330 from discount dealers like MB Covington.

BTW, it will help if you specify the year and model of your car, or the production date if you live in a country that does not have model years like USA/Japan.

:tumble:

I see…. i also had zero idea that the seals were changed.

Just checked the boot seal that i got also. Part number is 124 750 0038, also didn't fit my car. Now i have 2 seals that can’t fit my far. haha.

Apologies forgot to give the details of my car.

It’s a 1995 Japan spec.
Chassis number: WDB1240222C254262

Boot seal 124-750-00-98 is for 1986-1987 models, and that's the old style which is glued in place. The 1988-up seal is a press fit.

Part numbers I mentioned above are correct for your Japan-spec 1995 E220. You really need to get the EPC and look up part numbers directly, to avoid getting the wrong stuff - will save you a ton of headaches!

I see, how damn unlucky. Didn’t expect them to make a change in the seals.

How do i access an EPC?

If you are interested, I have 2 new front door seals by URO parts, see attached photo.
I also have 4 inner door seals second hand off a 1993 model.
