WANTED wtb- rocker panel trim for 500e :both sides.

Try David Hendy in the northeast, he posts on the forums and also on eBay, and he was parting a couple of 500E's. There's a guy in SoCal parting one too. I'm not sure if they have an rockers or trim though.

BTW - are you looking for the long rocker/trim that goes below the doors, with the jack holes? Or the wide trim that attaches to the doors & fenders?

Hey Dave-

Thanks for the names, I did shoot Hendy an email thru his Ebay listing.

I need just a driver side rocker panel, the long piece under the doors.

I'm picking up a 400/500e full conversion that has everything swapped over ( motor, suspension, brakes, flares front+rear, etc) except the 1 one rocker panel.

Looking forward to giving it a home. 20+K in recent conversion invoices, Texas car....white on tan.....sweet Lord I can't wait. This completes my 1990's Super Sedan collection.

Mike

Cool! That car looked really sweet. I'm curious what kind of fuel economy it would get on the freeway with the 5.0 motor and tall 2.24 gearing. Those Brabus wheels are quite rare, btw. Congrats on the score!

Side note - have you inquired at the dealer for a price on the rocker panel? No price is showing for it, which means the number may have been superceded... but if you can get a current/valid part number, the item can be purchased at Parts.com for 15% above dealer cost, plus shipping (lowest price you'll find anywhere).

As much as I wanted a real 500E , this one's soooo well sorted.

The M119 has been freshened up out of the car, so all the gaskets, chain, guide, etc are ready for the long haul. Very few miles on her since the conversion.

The owner says that from a dead stop if you mat it ....she'll light up the tires all day :wootrock:
probably due to the 400's 1st gear vb.

I'm hoping 1st thru 3rd are the same ratios as the 500's tranny, then that tall 4th for great mpg's which he says is in the mid 25's.

Hey Mike....I feel so bad now that you did get this car. I 'had' them rockers and sent them to Holland thinking you were going to pass on it for one of the other cars that were in your que to buy.... my extreme bad !! If that front bumper is too far gone though I have one for you.

Did you pick up the car yet? You'll have to tell me/us about that drive home in it.

Al's car in NYC was parted out last fall (front and rear damage) ...I'll try to see where it ended up. Mr. Lussier in Mass may know of or have a set too locally as well. No worries, they turn up.

Welcome to the gang !! I fully expect you to be active in the NE E500E scene now with that freak !! 8-)
