Hello all

I am looking for a AMG twin exit genuine rear back box/muffler. Should be able to ship to Dubai, UAE. I think R129 fitment will also fit on the W124 500E.

Please let me know if anyone has one in good condition, used is fine.

Many thanks in advance.

FWIW, the picture you show, while it is a AMG rear exhaust for the 500E, its basically a stock muffler with AMG tips added, nothing special aside from the tips.

@e500.org You can buy the tips repro from @Prometey as well and save yourself a considerable amount of money. As a matter of fact I am going to buy one set for attick stock just in case I ever need it. The correct part number for the OEM NLA AMG full exhaust system including the twin tips is HWA 124 4901721. This was an AMG Japan part, not an AMG Affalterback part, and as per AMG production letter on my car which has this exhaust system from factory that is the part number and the disclaimer it was a Japan AMG part. Good luck!

That part number isn't in the EPC, I looked it up a few years back, so its not something you can order or try to order.

Even if you could, I am pretty sure it would be NLA worldwide. Or if available in secondary market, it would be priced at least at $10K. It is a matter of taste. I like the look of the tips, but I like a silent car for these Mercedes. I only like a bit of sound on the Porsches. MBs. Silent all day long. Again, a matter of taste.

Adding the AMG 500E muffler to your car won't change the sound at all, again, its a stock 500E muffler with tips added.

On my cabrio AMG build I used tips off of a c36 exhaust and it looks great.
I picked up a square tip muffler for 3.4 w124 AMG but the positioning of the tips would be too close to the center. Was going to use it for my coupe e36 AMG tribute but I’m holding off until I can find the right one.

With the E500, I would hate to cut and weld on the original muffler so I think the best option would be to make a custom muffler with AMG tips welded on so I can keep the current muffler original and uncut.

it’s all about the correct placement of the tips for me. Of course, it would be nice to use the correct AMG muffler but they’re expensive and hard to come by.

The 500E muffler is the ONE exhaust item for the .036 that isn't yet NLA. So you could buy a spare, and cut up an original...
