Just to recap my 500E story. I while back a friend of mine with a 500SL saw the Taxi movie when I still had my mint 1989 300E and told me about the 500E car. Later on I had a chance to read the story about the W124.036 cars and in 2005 I bought my Pearl Black 1992 500E from the original owner in Santa Barbra, CA and I haven't stopped smiling to this day. I'm just glad that these cars were made to begin with for us to enjoy and can't see my self in a new Mercedes anytime soon.
Mods I have done since ownership:

> ECU and A/F have been re-mapped for more power and richer output (using proprietary software), dyno runs to follow
> ITG foam air filters
> HID Xenon headlight and fog lights conversion - 6000K replacement bulbs
> Hella Euro Headlights, wipers deleted and solid panels integrated
> Hella front clear turn signals
> Hella smoked tail lights
> ICE - Alpine 9884 receiver and two Alpine amplifiers, new MB Quart speakers all around and a 12" Solo-Baric L3 Sub @ 4 ohms from Kicker: between the sub and speakers = 1200 watts
> LCA's from a 1995 E420
> Silver Arrow brake kit - F: 334mm, R: 300mm
> Brembo cross-drilled (cast holes) rotors (F & R)
> Calipers resurfaced and painted in Pear Black color
> Goodridge stainless steel braided brake lines all around
> Porterfield R4S brake pads
> Cat-back exhaust by RB Tech - all stainless steel dual exhaust, mandrel bent 3 inch pipes, X-pipe and two mufflers are designed by RB Tech as well.
> HRE 3-piece forged wheels, model 546 - F: 17 x 8.5 (offset et27), R: 17x10 (offset et34)
> Current tires: Continental DW - F: 245/45/17, R: 275/40/17
> 160A Bosch alternator
> Cool Harness - auxiliary fans trigger at 92C
> Avantgarde grill insert
> Brabus aluminum pedals
> First gear start transmission valve body installed from a 1995 E420
> Engine oil, brake fluid and differential oil from Motul.
