If I wasn't in the middle of a big project I'd order another set. The black with red would look very nice in the red car.

500E in the shop. I can’t remember, do we have any attachment point (grommet) that I’d need to spec into the order?

Anyone got any pics of any CocoMat patterns inside a gray interior?

Thanks!

A month ago, I asked for a bit of a price break on 2 sets. They would not budge so this post is very timely as it just saved me $65! Thx.

Last day for 15% off! Couldn't resist. Ordered a set. This is getting really crazy... having 3 sets of floor mats per car for all

I really like Fürstil 6.6 for the clean and modern look. What do you all have or ordering for your E500E, MB, or non-MB?

Anyone have pic with these in a mushroom/parchment/whatever you call in tan color interior? Been debating these for some time now cars been refreshed over last month this might be a good capstone for the effort.

Thanks in advance

Thanks so much those do look nice. Im really seriously thinking about the Jaspe Calico one cuz its so crazy but think might be over the top. I really also like the black background.

S500E: Tks for the Coco mat coupon. I used it and my mats arrived this morning. Very nice looking. I went with the black herringbone for my gray interior.

Regards,

Peter Weissman

You are welcome. Mine arriving this Friday!

One of 2 sets I ordered. Jaspe Calico was not even on my radar nor did I ask for a sample. They just sent it along with the 2 other samples I chose upon a phone conversation. I think it works so well with Cognac and the late 60's early 70's vintage.

How are these for snowy/rainy weather?
Around here, too many dang pine needles and car needs vacuuming every week in fall.

I couldn't be happier with my Cocos. They have a full rubber bottom so they trap moisture and dirt. You can shape them out as well as vacuum them.

Cocomats just ran another 15% off flash sale about a week or two ago, but unfortunately it was only like 2-3 days, and I didn't see their e-mail in time to post the code here.

Great, thinking of getting them in black color.
Would you recommend the full set including the rear or just them for front seat?

I wasn't sure if the rears are a snug fit as well or do they just move around like the generic Walmart set.
Will wait for the next time there is a sale and get a full set.

Strictly looking for an explanation here, not trying to be argumentative.... :detective:

What is so great about Coco mats?

We had these in the 58 VW Beetle when I was a kid, and I thought they were pretty worthless as all the dirt and crud that came off your shoes just went through them and into the carpet below. Now understand that back then I didn't get to bring the Hoover Constellation out in the driveway to clean out the car, I had to use a "whisk broom" to get everything out of the carpet and into a dust pan.

When I get a new (to me) Mercedes, the first thing I look for is a set of OE carpeted mats. When I get them they get Scotchgarded before they go into the car. Other than wear in the heel area by the accelerator pedal, every set I've had has lasted some years and held up well. They're soft, comfortable, and easy to clean.

So other than the obvious aesthetic aspect of Coco mats, what's the deal?

(Do understand that I live in Florida, so I don't have to deal with the winter cruft that comes into a car from wet/snowy/slushy shoes. Worst thing I have to deal with is sand...)

I think the problem with the factory mats is that they have gotten really cheap and are about 1/3 the thickness of the original mats with the heel pad. I ordered a set of factory mats and I am totally dissatisfied. I looked at the Coco mat website but it didn't look like I could get something just like the original mats with the Mercedes-Benz writing on the heel pad. Chicks dig that.

The mats have a HEAVY duty rubber (natural rubber) backing with teeth. A whole set of 4 for our cars weighs about 14lbs - and that is the rubber. The driver side has a large additional rubber rectangle that is part of the base rubber molding itself, so that the heel of either foot do not wear out the mats. So they are pretty much indestructible, heavy as hell so they stay where you put them and look very nice IMHO. Worth so much, I ordered a set for the E when the dealer was doing my paperwork for the sale.

The OE carpeted mats are OK until the rubber backing disintegrates and leaves little pieces of balled up rubber everywhere.

They make factory solid rubber mud mats. They stink for a week or two, but then stop smelling. They last forever. They are impervious to everything and keep carpets perfect. Hit them with the pressure washer when they get dirty. I wouldnt put them in a weekend car, but for daily driver use they cannot be beat. I have them in both cars. Wish they made a matching mat for the cargo area in the wagon.

Do you have the part number?
Are they the same as:

Agreed, the disintegration of the rubber backing is a good indicator that they need to be replaced. While it's hit or miss, when the OE mats are available I'll buy a set for the car.

The "all weather" or rubber mats are really nice, and amazingly inexpensive. I think the set for my R129 was only $40 or thereabouts. I haven't looked into availability for any of the other cars in the fleet, but probably should. While they're not terribly attractive, they do a fantastic job of protecting the carpet beneath, and in our climate, gather up all the sand that collects pretty much everywhere.

I didn't realize the Coco mats had a rubber backing. If that's the case I can see their value. Otherwise, what's the point other than looks? It would be like a VW Thing with the wooden cleats for floorboards/mats.

Yes, Q-668-0345 is the part number for the W124 all-weather rubber mats. Not cheap at ~$100 for the set of four, but they do last forever. They are a snug fit in the rear of the 034/036 due to the wider propshaft tunnel.

We have these in our DD cars, 124 + 210. I'll second everything atg said in post #38 above. When brand new, they do reek pretty bad for a number of weeks, to the point where I'd recommend letting them air out somewhere (not in the car!) until the stench subsides... then put them in the car.

Thx. I will see if the dealer has them in stock and check out in person.
The current set up is MB carpeted ones where the back has started to disintegrate topped with $20 Walmart set. Time to throw all those out and get this set or the coco ones.

Online prices for these are around $80. Drop the hyphens in the number and they'll show up in online EPC/catalogs.

Need to see if they have them for the W210... found them! Q6680348

I have the MB all weather mats in my 500E and my E320 wagon. Coco mats in my E550. I wish I had Coco mats in all of the cars. There is a psychological difference when getting in a car and all the materials look high quality vs. big black rubber mats. Maybe it’s also because my W124s are crime-beige and parchment so the black mats stick out like sore thumbs. Ironically, my E550 has a black interior so I probably would not mind the rubber mats there so much.

Hopefully not "Harbor Fright store" reek (Chinese ersatz rubber).

For me the psychological difference is knowing no matter what goes down there, is isnt getting through the floormat! Which is a lot of stuff, as we have a 6 and 8 year old and they snack from home to school to piano to karate etc. All weather mats are pretty much the first thing I throw into any car, new or old.
