Headliner pre-cut material

As Dave mentioned, you will need the foam for a good result. Headliner material can be purchased with integral foam. I would advise against glueing the separate pieces together. It's a messy job.

@natejgreene9871,
I know this is brutal BUT pay a professional upholster to do this job. There’s a place in Florida that sells the headliner at a reasonable price. Find an upholster with experience on 124 headliners.

Save yourself from disappointment.

I've got at least 3 cars that have the headliner sagging. I need to find a local shop to recover one and see how it turns out.

I'd call some local shops and get an estimate to have a pro do the work, then decide if you want to attempt it as DIY or not. If it's only a few hundred bucks, just pay the professional. It's on them to make it look like new.

I'm sure that, way back, there was a discussion here about trying to re-use the original material when addressing the problem of a sagging headliner?

At that time, it was very much not recommended to attempt this. Against this advice, my local re-upholsterer tried to so, without success. I think the problem stems from the material loosing its elasticity over time, and even though he was able to stretch it enough initially to re-cover the headboard, within a very short period of time it shrunk back again and sagged.

It's really imperative to get some new material. As the saying goes, you either pay once, or pay twice!
