*facepalm*Lol:
"... when it' still 500E they had POrsche install the engine, then after 93 facelift and name change to E500 mercedes installed the engines in house"

I´m so far i would give jail time for that...
Nope. AFAICT it has not been listed for sale anywhere, yet, publicly. Someone will need to contact the seller to get the VIN.Does anyone know which chassis/VIN this one is?

More of the same bullshit propagated. Some people will never learn the facts.
...the w124 500E is not a sports sedan and it is not terribly athletic...

I’m not so sure about this one either, JLAA. I’m starting to think you don’t drive your 500E hard enough. Compared to my E46M and W220 S55 this thing holds its own quite well. And every now and then I get inspired to flog em all a bit. It’s just so composed you almost forget what it’s doing. My $.02 anyway.
Admittedly yours may be too nice to toss around...
maw
. In my travels I have realized that certain German people seem to be able to pull off this contradiction quite well.

I think it is unfair to call a 4 door E9X a sports sedan when BMW just added a couple of doors to a coupe which we are now comparing to an E500E.

SL, Jaguar XK, Porsche 928 are all GT cars. My Triumph TR6 is a sports car. Not because it's fast , but because it will leave a huge grin on your face while shaking all your fillings loose.

I thought Doug’s review both sucks and blows. This guy just sees the E500Es as old car technology. He does not appreciate anything about it. Starting with the Recaro seats “not supportive”. Obviously he likes to drive the crap out of his E63 and expected a similar experience in a 500E. He is into high tech and not looking back. Based on his grading he was struggling to give it a 50% grade.
I consider the review a “Kick in the Nuts” to the Owner. I would be pissed if I was getting ready to sell this car on BaT. In fact I would delay the auction at least 6 months.
LoL
I started to write that he is too young to appreciate the car but I don’t think that is correct....
I think the issue is that he lacks the background to appreciate fine mechanical engineering .... as opposed to appreciating an engaging user experience.
In current techie terms... EaaS (Everything as a Service). What I have noticed is that younger folk (and even some older folk) tend to believe that most everything is disposable, and is just replaced rather than repaired. It's a by-product of -- but not entirely due to -- consumer culture. ... In recent decades, it's become all about "engaging user experience" (@maw1124's term, but a good one), and flashiness, and then moving on to the next thing. Nobody buys much anymore (least of all a car) to own and to hold onto for decades.

Hello Guest !
We wanted to let you know about a new resource that is now available to all 500Eboard members. This is a comprehensive database of all US-market (and soon to include Canadian-market) 500E and E500 models delivered for the 1992 through 1994 model years.
Data for this resource has been compiled continuously since mid-2003, and much of this information is seeing the light of day for the very first time ever. This new resource will allow you to utilize 500Eboard research and resources to track specific cars, their sale history, documented modifications, and other information that has surfaced over the years.
We are also providing analytics about the cars' production. This means that if you are curious as to how many "Signal Red" cars were produced for the US market with a black interior, specifically in Model Year 1993, you can now easily find this information. You can also find aggregated information -- for example, how many "Black Pearl" cars were imported into the US over the three-year span.
You can always find and enjoy this resource by clicking here (bookmark the site for easy reference!), or by going to the “500Eboard Registry and VIN Database” sub-forum below. You can also find a VIN Database button at the top of your screen, for easy access.
We hope you enjoy this resource. A LOT of blood, sweat and tears over nearly 23 years have gone into its creation.
Cheers,
500Eboard Management
