braided steel brake lines

perhaps they are blocking orders from specific country IP address as they will not ship there...

JB has been unable to determine why some people can access the site and order without issues, and other people can't access the site at all. He's equally frustrated. No immediate solution in place other than to contact him directly to place an order...

What is the best way to contact JB directly? I left a voice mail with my name and number on the company voice mail.

Is there an email address that is better suited?

Thanks again for all the help and of course the near $100 sacrificial purchase.

Maybe only certain web browsers work? I ran into the occasionally with Safari. Then fire up Chrome and give that a try.

I received an email from the Deerfield folks -- they are making up my lines and will be shipping to me very shortly. I am not sure what the problem some people are having is, but the process has worked fine for me.

FWIW I get the same behavior. I can create an account, log in numerous times, but it doesn't take it. Then resend the "forget password" and try that, no dice. I've used Firefox, Safari, Chrome, & IE. I've used three of my active emails, from different IPs (work, home), and nothing seems to work.

Edit: Seems like if he allowed folks to check out as guests it would fix the problem

I have alerted Deerfield to this thread. My guess is that it is a quirk with their e-commerce software platform.

It’s been a long time since I got my lines from Deerfield. It may have been under the other name then.

If I remember correctly when I first tried to contact them to place my order I could not get in. Someone I can’t remember (maybe Gerry) told me to reset my browser options. After that I got thru with no problem.

Deerfield Precision used to go by the name "WRXtra" per their start supplying Subaru-related parts.

You can always contact the owner, JB Hebert, directly, via email at wrxtra (at) gmail.com to place an order.

:update:

From JB, the owner of Deerfield - if you are unable to order via the web, you can email (preferred), or call using the info below:

support@deerfieldprecision.com is the best way to reach me, or 413.259.6783 to call. I do my best to return all phone calls and emails same day, but it's a lot easier and quicker to reply to emails in a noisy shop, so that's preferable.
Thank you!
J.B.

I did get an e-mail this morning from Deerfield that my braided brake lines have shipped. I was going to re-sell them on this site, but I think I will keep them as part of my deep-parts stock for the future.

Still can't place an order. Latest iteration added two sets of lines for a Ford pickup to my cart. Can't remove from cart but looks like I can check out. Don't need $100 worth of Ford parts though . . .

Neither Chrome nor Safari has worked.
Nor has emails and voice mails.

What is considered the best alternative?

Rubber is fine. Any suggestions?

I beleive that two different emails have been posted to this thread. Please send one email to BOTH email addresses together, and you should get a response.

Also keep in mind Deerfield is a 1-man company and it isn't his primary day job, he builds brake hoses on the side. It may take a business day or two for a response.

Hey Gerry,

Do you want to sell me those lines you purchased awhile back when you wanted to prove the Deerfield Precision website is working? You bought what I'm looking for and I'll gladly pay you bank plus shipping.

Let me know.

Do you want lines with blue caps? I think most people like them with black caps. If you want them yes I would sell to you. For what I paid plus $8 postage. That’s about $97.

Installed over the past week while also replacing rotors and pads. Was a little concerned having followed Kiev's recent adventure on another thread given that I am living in MA with the inherent rust but do keep my 1994 E500 from ever seeing snow or salt.

Other than me being old, the job itself turned to to be a piece of cake. I did use PB Blaster the night before on the fasteners and used an 11 mm flare wrench to break the fittings. I bought a used Vrtex pressure bleeder off a Craigslist guy in Shrewsbury and so flushed and bled the brake fluid.

Thank you all for the excellent how-to's, photos, videos and tips on this forum - I wouldn't have ever started and certainly could not have finished without the confidence I had based on the the really informative forums and advice.

I was experiencing similar issues placing an order with Deerfield on my laptop using both Chrome and Firefox. Eventually I was successful using the Chrome app on my Android phone. I hope this helps anyone in the future.

I tried contacting them twice through "contact us" option on their page, last week. No revert from them so far.

Unfortunately the website shopping cart does not work for me on Safari nor on Chrome.

I emailed wrxtra at gmail as well as support at deerfieldprecision.com and will wait for a reply.

A few years ago I used their front lines when I replaced everything suspension and brake related at the front of the car. I junked the existing Goodrich hoses at the time.

Now as I am collecting parts to replace everything suspension and bushing related at the rear, I intend to junk the existing rear Goodrich hoses as well. The Goodrich hoses seem to fit a little weird (too long?).

If y'all can't source these from Joe in a timely manner just LMK. We have them on the Shelf ready to ship and I'm sure we get them out the same day if we hear from you in the morning.

Went through the same struggle of trying to gain access to Deerfield Precision's site and perform an order on F+R Brake lines. Here were my notes:

1. When you add items to the "cart", you will note a non-secure message thrown. I am not too worried about this due to knowing the history of this site + individual based on this thread. Accept this message.
2. There looks to be a session id `osCsid` and `cpath` associated when guest access is made / navigation occurs / items are added to the cart. These likely don't need to be displayed to the public view, but it assisted in getting an understanding of why my order wasn't going through correctly.
3. If you have already entered the flow of adding items into your cart and then struggling to log into your account post creation (guest checkout flow), you will want to remove the trailing modifiers to the URL. ex: Deerfield Precision?cPath=32&osCsid=79tm7f5ds8bvgo5kpinlugeka7 > Deerfield Precision | This will allow for the login flow to occur correctly.
4. Once you are properly logged in, then you'll be able to re-add the brake lines and/or continue the checkout correctly.

Hope this helps out some future buyers.

EDIT: Put in this order last Wednesday and already have them in hand today (Monday). Quick delivery and they look fantastic. Will be great to replace the old rubber lines when replacing the stock 92 brakes with silver arrow.
