Dont know why but i cant sent you message…
This should be conversion after production, car does not have 957 code:
Wdb1240361C169521

Can you check is it really converted to 6.0L in AMG?
Thank you.

Sorry Guys It has been a while since I updated this info.
I have gone with fine comb to check originality of S70 .
Looks like real deal.
I even have video with the oil filler cap open showing AMG camshaft :)
Then I approached MB officially and after some time got this letter.

Nice! Did AMG send that letter for free, or did it cost you >€700 to get it?

where there markings on it that you could see?

I was going through documents folder of S70
Found all inspections sheets done by Yanase LTD ( official AMG Japan at that time)
All fully filled in and stamped
Mileages all added up.

So its a Japan AMG cuz japan cars have that black label on the door frame.
How and where did you get that certificate?

Im also trying to buy S70 AMG but European version, German car. The car also has certificate but it looks diffrent:

Your certificate is the latest they supply I believe .
This is what you need to confirm that the car is original and real AMG
You can safely buy the best car ever ;)
Initially I thought that w140 AMG were never supplied new from the factory.
But it looks like they were , at least in Japan.
I got mine through old contact in Germany it took ages

This part is interesting. Since it reminds me of this. Although the latter being E72 motormanagement.

very interesting , so my car has E70 engine with E72 exhaust ( does it mean this exhaust was designed for E72 engine ? or this is just the name for any 7.0 AMG exhaust)
Also with regards to your description looks like changing engine managment system from e70 to e72 you would achieve extra power upgrade from 496 to 510 BHP?
As far as I am aware E72 engine was producing 525 BHP

I 'm not certain about the M120 variants, but for the M119 AMG 6L builds, all exhaust systems were factory stock - the exception being AMG Japan sometimes fitted fancy square tips to the muffler outlet pipes. Main downpipes, catalysts, and center muffler/resonator were stock (not AMG / HWA- items). I have a feeling the M120 exhausts are similar, i.e. there are not AMG-specific exhaust components which increase power.

Edit: See posts below, AMG did modify the catalysts for 7L+ displacement M120 builds!

Ok in case of m120 on w140 is actually different, ( this is based on checking 3 w140 7.0 amg before I bought current one)
Every car I inspected had different catalytic converter and rear box.
Rear box has completely different shape .
All cars are much louder comparing to standard S600.
they have part numbers corresponding to my certificate.
However I think the middle section is standard w140 part number but it is listed on my certificate

You can check the numbers on the catalytic converter with a reverse lookup in the EPC. If it's not an HWA- number, it's almost certainly a stock / original M120 item. There may be different part numbers for different years/chassis with M120.

The rear muffler could indeed be different, which would account for louder exhaust note. However, if the engine has AMG camshafts, that can also change the exhaust note.

These two LH-Jetronic SL72 documents indeed show different numbers: KT A004 and SN A017.

The LH-Jetronic S70 however shows same numbers as your HMS ME S70: KT A005, SM 0089 and SN A016.
But it also shows 386 kW and M120 7.0 engine.

And look v-max 274 to both. And the Hammer with less power runs up to 300km/h. I cant belive that you have a empty long Autobahn
to drive this. And yes i know they made some Aero spec but....?????

Right. Indeed, how reliable are those V-max numbers in the Fahrzeugdokumente? I think Dekra/TüV just calculate from behind their desks.
And sometimes this goes way overrated.
