400E Heater core replacement

Hi, does anyone know which repair shop in or near Toronto will be able and willing to replace a heater core on 1993 400e.
Thanks,
Paul

@Paul_J - I don't know a shop near Toronto, but be prepared for a HUGE bill on this job. The dash must be removed, it could be 10-12 hours of labor at the local rates, plus parts. And, IIRC the heater core is NLA. If you do this job, I'd also replace the 4 vacuum actuators which often fail, and require dash removal - it's incremental labor while the heater core is out. Then you should never have to pull the dash again.

Are you 100% certain the heater core is bad / leaking? What are the symptoms? Heater cores are an extremely rare failure on the 124 chassis.

Thank you for the quick reply and I appreciate advise about vacum actuators. Yes, I heard that it's a daunting job and that's why it's difficult to find someone who's up for the challenge. I'm not 100% sure it's a heater core, but according to symptoms, it's a high probability it is. I'll definetaly do pressure test before I go ahead with the job. Symptom is: coolant fluid leaks into the cabin on passenger side (only when heating is on). I know it's gonna be costly, but I would prefer that it gets done by professional. Thanks again.
Cheers,
Paul

Paul I did this on the C126. This is not that hard of a job, but as stated it is a big job and you need to be prepared mentally, a box of baggies, and a sharpie, a mobile phone to take pictures and with the car indoors, open sunroof and roll down windows, disconnect battery. A good fan for airflow will help too if in a residential garage. Lots of while you are in here things to do as well. good luck. Also to echo GSXR, be darn sure it is a leaking core, if it is a pipe corrosion you may be able to fix that if you have enough to get a purchase on the existing good pipe.

I have a complete heater unit that was removed from a low mileage 500E, if you are interested. I don't know if they are the same as a 400E, but maybe someone could inform us. See attached photo
