W124 M119 Vs. W140 M119..Any difference?

Newbie question here:

According to Wiki, W140 S500 and W1140 500E/E500 both use the same 5.0 version of the M119 engine, so I am curious to see what are the difference between the two if any in term of horsepower, layout, and etc!

I know there are difference in term of HP between the 94-95 W124 500E and the earlier year of 92-93?. The earlier one has a bit more horsepower than the later. Then, what about the power-wise difference the between different year of W140 S class? I come to assume its the same setup then?

Assuming we're talking about 1992-1995 only... they had different exhaust manifolds, oil pan/sump, and oil pump location. Same power output.

Same differences... 1992 was rated 322hp (SAE net), 1993-up was rated 315hp. This was because the WOT enrichment was eliminated from the computer programming starting in 1993. The actual power loss was more than 7hp, but MB partially made up for it by reducing the weight of the pistons and valvetrain, primarily for fuel economy, but this freed up a little power as well. Thanks for the info.

I am interested to learn more about the m119 because I see the w140 and the w124 chassis both using the same engine while doing researching. Anyway, I see they are almost identical from the outside with the exception of those intake tubes.
