7.0 TE by MKB

MKB is the tuning firm started by Erhard Melcher, the "M" in AMG, nearly 20 years ago.

The Greenpeace sticker at right for the rear hatch wiper is on both cars, so it appears to be the same car. :-)

(...nice car, but still with a regular stationwagon rear bumper, and not complete rear fender widening)

I really like that it's narrow body....Sleeper as ....!!!

I'd have left the wing off the rear, but otherwise she's Damn Spot on.. Maybe some Evo's over the Mono Blocks..;-)

However, in that MKB 70 TE article, the info on the engine is interesting.
The fully fettled V12 in the MKB 70TE saw the V12’s out-of-the-box 5,987cc displacement stretched to 6,944cc through an increase in bore x stroke from 89.0 x 80.20mm to 90.0 x 91.0mm.

Which 6,9 liter M120 engines do i know of?

The Carlsson 6,980 cc. The Lotec 6,901 cc. (90 x 90,4 and 348 kW).

Lotec also has a 7,038 cc 348 kW M120.

Bore and stroke 90 x 91 seems to match the Renntech 7 liter. That's where the author of that MKB article goes wrong, i think.

How i know those (Lotec)figures?

By asking owners to send me copies of their car registration papers. I believe them/those? to be accurate.

I think we need to have weide1 create an M120 Wiki entry with all the various displacement, bore, stroke, and power specs!!

:deniro:

I think that Wiki entry would be incomplete for a very long time. Since it is that hard to find all the accurate specs.
I frequently emailed with several companies that originally made the M120. I digged through a lot of tests/pdf's/brochures and carforums. I made contact with owners of M120 cars.

But that still is not enough to make it complete.

No big deal though, searching for is just as fun - perhaps even more - then having it complete.

It's a luxury problem.

Its hard to see but it looks like the command install in that dash is pretty clean. I've only ever seen it attempted twice in pictures and it came out looking like too much of an afterthought for my taste. Does anyone happen to have better shots of the dash on this particular wagon? There is also some type of jog wheel looking control near the end of console that looks interesting. Anyone know what it is? Phone maybe?

The same car. So i am pretty sure, but how sure can one be in life, that the so called MKB 70 TE is in fact the Kicherer S124 with the 72 AMG engine.

According to Sebastian Nast an engine change could well be possible.
Jau doch, der 7.2 M120 AMG war damals wohl komplett rott, kapitaler
Motorschaden, MKB hat bei der Sanierung wohl einen komplett neuen
Motor, in dem Fall dann einen 7.0 M120, eingebaut ...

So that Renntech 6.9 may not be so far beside the truth.
An email toward MKB has been sent. Still, those guys are on holiday.

I remember when the car was for sale on mobile.de few years ago , they clearly stated that the original engine ( 7.2) was replaced by a brand new 7.0 MKB .

Gents, regarding the center console new wood pieces, does the existing structure get cut back to accommodate the overlay look? The regular oem hvac controls sit back of the structure side. Or is it a case of spacers that bring it out? I think there is a forum member that has a 3.6L wagon with this style mod, perhaps they could shed some light on it?
