No affiliation. Never seen so many seller comments flagged as inappropriate - appears to have been spamming every buyer who previously bid on old AMG's? Japan-spec car. Titled and registered in Montana, because of course it is. And there has already been a question from the peanut gallery, "Ability to license in California?" LOLOL.

VIN = WDB1260391A506437

Dave, those first two flags were on the overanxious seller when he spammed with @ signs (twice!) for every person on the board that he thought might possibly be interested.

Signs of desperation don't usually help your cause...

Check out the driving videos. Lots of background clicking/rattling noise in all of them - possibly the camera mount? Really distracting, plus you can't hear the engine or potential suspension concerns.

And as expected, there is no video of WOT, or even what appears to be more than ~1/2 throttle, nor above ~3000rpm. Lots of slow cruising in town. No idea if it's making normal power, if the transmission shifts correctly near redline, etc etc. I swear, people think that Mercedes will break if you pin the throttle. *smh*

:facepalm:

Don't break the goose before she lays golden eggs😂
LOL! :ROFLMAO:

OTOH... proving that it's not a Fabergé egg might actually drive the price higher (see what I did there?), for buyers who don't want a museum piece.

Counterpoint, there are also buyers who freak out at the mere thought of over half throttle or 3000rpm, imagining the powertrain and chassis being "destroyed" by such "abuse". :rolleyes:

Nevermind that AMG allegedly tested every DOHC M117 engine for hours (24 hours?) at redline, and full load, on a dyno before installing the engine in a car.

Wow! Those videos don’t inspire much confidence in the car. The Seller needs to get an professional videographer and re-do the videos.

Does anyone know If this is factual? If so that's really cool! It just sucks those original amgs are way too expensive now.

@jhodg5ck ? Can you confirm if this was myth or reality?

I would have sworn I read that AMG tested all M117 DOHC engines on the dyno for 24 hours before installing in a car and delivering to customers. I also thought I have seen a photo of an engine on the dyno with the exhaust manifolds glowing red. But, I can't find any photos or documentation...

:scratchchin:

They tested engines, yes...for 24H not that I have heard... Now when it came to setting a car up for a shoot out/magazine event they did go NUTS making sure they had the strongest engine and transmission combination.

One fact that was Interesting was there was a Considerable margin of difference from one transmission to another when it came to how much Power it ate up in the process. The silver Hammer before it went off for worlds fastest cars had 7 different transmissions strapped to it before leaving for the test...:-P

Sorry I missed the comments here earlier, but anywho, cool car, worked on her Years ago. I'm certain it has Needs, nothing 20-100 grand won't fix through, but that DOHC M117 life....:)
