No affiliation. Credit to @maw1124 for locating this one. So pretty! Pity it's light on options. No memory seats, no heated seats, no Sound System, no passenger airbag. It does have telescopic steering wheel, roller blind, sunroof, and fire extinguisher though. Not crazy about snow tyres mounted... and ZERO undercarriage photos.

1991 Mercedes-Benz (W124) 500E
KEY FACTS
- This W124-generation Mercedes-Benz 500E is a highly sought-after modern classic ‘super-saloon’.
- Under the bonnet sits a naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8, producing around 326hp which is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission.
- Delivered new to Germany, this 500E is now located in Gstaad, Switzerland.
- The odometer indicates 18,263 kilometres, though this is not warranted.
- With its engineering department occupied with the development of the then new S-Class, in 1989, Mercedes-Benz commissioned Porsche to redesign the W124 chassis to fit the 5.0L ‘M119’ V8, and alter the suspension and drivetrain to accommodate.
- The 500E was also assembled by Porsche at its ‘Reutter-Bau’ plant in Zuffenhausen, as its widened wings reportedly couldn’t fit through the W124 assembly line at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Sindelfingen. Vehicles were transported back and forth between ‘Reutter-Bau’ and Sindelfingen for assembly, painting, engine installation and final inspection, in a process which took 18 days per car.
- The 500E was equipped with uprated brakes having borrowed components from the contemporary SL, and featured a 38mm wider track, 23mm lower profile, wider tyres, flared wings, side skirts, and a front air dam. Inside, it is equipped with leather-trimmed heated seats, supplied by Recaro.
- This example is finished the lesser-seen factory hue of Nautical Blue metallic over a black leather interior with Caro fabric seat centres and burr wood trim.
- Equipment includes electric windows and mirrors, a Becker radio cassette, telephone preparation, an electric tilt and slide sunroof, an electrically adjustable steering column, a fire extinguisher, a front armrest, a heated rear screen, and a rear electric roller blind.
- It is accompanied by the owner’s manuals, its registration documents, and two keys.
- Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition.
- Specific notes from the seller include: the bonnet and boot lid have been repainted.
- The latest service was carried out in October 2024 at 116,441 km by Mercedes-Benz Gstaad.
- Prior to this, the car was serviced in August 2023 at 115,791 km by Emil Frey AG Wädenswil, and in August 2007 at 114,225 km by Autostern Wedenswil.
