FOR SALE 1992 400E, Beryl / Cream-Beige, 426kmi, FREE (Charlotte, NC) - Salvage title

Hard to beat free-ninety-nine. :jono:

This is a semi-unicorn with left AND right orthopedic front seats, ASR, and "reinforced" front seats (stiffer springs/pads). Pity it does not have bun warmers. This was a special-order, European-delivery car.

With miles this high it would be fun to keep it alive and chasing @Glen's 1Mkm 036. 426kmi is almost 690kkm. Note that it has a salvage title issued in 2017, reported as total loss to insurance due, possibly a "minor" front-end collision. I assume it may not run, or have other major issues, due to the price. Also, it might be gone already, someone would have to reach out to the seller on Bookface and check.

Finding ortho seats and retrofitting to my 400E is a life goal of mine. lol. They're probably not that impactful but I've always wanted them.
I have them in my beater 1995 E420, and sadly they are non-functional at the moment. I mostly used the side bolster feature, I'm not a wide guy and the additional squeeze was nice on twisty pavement. I need to diagnose them, I have a bad feeling there's a leaky bladder, and those are NLA. I wouldn't be surprised if the pressure pump is also NLA.

Ian, if you do ever find a set, there's a better than 50/50 chance they are inoperable. I'm not sure if leaky bladders can be reliably repaired. @jhodg5ck might know. Soooo much work to remove and disassemble these seats.

:5150:

That's good to know, thanks Dave. I know David Hendy has a set with everything for a swap, but freight from the east coast seems a real cost to indulge my folly.
