I have a 1993 500E that has a salvage title that I’m not ready to make a project out of. Not sure on mileage. Odometer says 89k and title says 115k. Car starts and runs but needs lots of work. Not really sure if there is interest in the car but let me know if there is interest.

Re: 1993 500E with salvage title?

Not sure how to post a picture. But you can message me or email and I can send pics.

Re: 1993 500E with salvage title?

car has a salvage title. it was repainted black.
Ah, a repaint... got it. Would help if you could post a few more photos and a rough price you're looking for.

Re: FS: 1993 500E, salvage title (Arizona)

phew....

Well, if you have an idea $ wise I'm interested!

Re: FS: 1993 500E, salvage title (Arizona)

Based on what little information you have provided, market price would probably be somewhere in the range of $9k to $12k.

I don’t think it’s worth that much. Interior is pretty rough I will get better pics and more info soon.

Salvage title and TMU you think would bring $10K? I doubt it

Re: FS: 1993 500E, salvage title (Arizona)

I think price policing needs to stay off this thread. Let the buyer/seller settle on a fair price they are comfortable with.

Re: FS: 1993 500E, salvage title (Arizona)

I think you should get around 4K for her...sadly it looks to be a rolling parts car, but that's what I would pay for something Like this were it local.

Re: FS: 1993 500E, salvage title (Arizona)

Wow! Impressive CAR FAX!! Two accidents after the salvage title was issued.
It must have been owned by a blind man or a kid or a former taxi driver in an Indiana Jones movie.

It’s appears to have had a long hard life. IMOP, the CF speaks loudly about the E500E’s durability and it’s ability to overcome adversity.

It’s “TAKEN a LICKING and KEPT on TICKIN

Re: FS: 1993 500E, salvage title (Arizona)

I was impressed that it was totaled with only 3000 miles on the clock. First, it's impressive to wreck it with such low miles, and less than 9 months after it left the dealer's lot. Second, the damage must have been massive for it to be totaled when it was still worth >$70k!!!

:duck:

Re: FS: 1993 500E, salvage title (Arizona)

Thanks guys for the input. I appreciate the Carfax. I agree 100% that’s it’s not worth nowhere close to a most 500e’s out there. I think you guys are right about the prices also. I have some newer photos I’ll post.

So given the Title status, the general overall condition, and now seeing the original seats are missing, I concur Jono that this car is basically a rolling parts car.

Re: FS: 1993 500E, salvage title (Arizona)

Thanks for the photos, that definitely helps. Did you install the seats, or did you buy it like that? Looks like front seats from a different model MB (W211?), rears almost look like covers over the originals, but it's hard to tell.

I don't see plates on it, is the car driveable?

~$3k is good ballpark as-is. Have any photos under the hood?

Re: FS: 1993 500E, Black repaint/Gray/Black, TMU, $3k, salvage title (Arizona)

Going to check this out in person tomorrow with Blair, could possibly be a perfect widebody donor for the diesel super wagon.

Re: FS: 1993 500E, salvage title (Arizona)

I got the car this way. Realized it was too much for me. It basically is a good donor parts car.

Re: FS: 1993 500E, Black repaint/Gray/Black, TMU, $3k, salvage title (Arizona)

Whoa, looks like someone installed a different radiator that bypasses the factory expansion tank. Weird!!

Re: FS: 1993 500E, Black repaint/Gray/Black, TMU, $3k, salvage title (Arizona)

Weve seen it all now guys lol. This does look like a hell of alot of work to rehab. Parts donor would be easiest.

Re: FS: 1993 500E, Black repaint/Gray/Black, TMU, $3k, salvage title (Arizona)

Pretty rough indeed. I can see a few parts worth saving but the more I look the less I see. Fenders, bumbers, and cladding (assuming no bondo).

As Dave said, the car had to have been in a really bad way to be totaled with 3k on the clock.

I am interested in saving this thing, unlike the others. This car can be saved for the right price, I've done it to much more worthless and bland cars than this. PM me.

Re: FS: 1993 500E, Black repaint/Gray/Black, TMU, $3k, salvage title (Arizona)

I only paid $7k for my salvage titled 036 in Hollywood. The OEM interior was flawless, engine ran great (averaged 90MPH all the way back to AZ), and the repair on the rear end(while crappy and now redone completely) was tolerable. This car is 1/10th of that, I imagine even less in person.....

Re: FS: 1993 500E, Black repaint/Gray/Black, TMU, $3k, salvage title (Arizona)

For what it's worth, the Owner had listed this car on Craigslist in Phoenix for $750. I just noticed he pulled the add.

No takers at $750 or the ad was pulled?
