Immaculately beautiful 500 E with the original stamped booklets, classic data and TUV reports and stacks of maintenance bills. From collector for sale and quasi like new. Newly delivered in Germany, very extensively documented and almost completely Mercedes dealer maintained. Even the German appraisal reports and purchase invoice are present. Delivered new on 5 May 1993 in Hofheim-Wallau for DM 148, 870. 03... including climate control, metallic paint, cruise control, sunroof/ tilt roof and alarm.

The E was delivered new in the rare colour ‘929 Nautikblau’ metallic and that colour looks very nice on the car. Subdued and classic. Actually crazy that this colour has not been ordered more often. Absolutely a top colour for this youngtimer. Largely in its original paint and hardly any signs of use. Damage-free past and rust-free. Another extensive Dinitrol treatment was carried out in 2015, photos are available. The original 8-hole alu rims are damage-free and fitted with excellent tyres. The original and 17 mm lowered suspension has rear level control.

By the way, the body is slightly wider than the standard W124, so it was not possible to produce the car on an assembly line. Therefore, they ordered Porsche to build the 500 E by hand in Zuffenhausen. It took no less than 18 days for each 500 E to be finished as the body was transported to Sindelfingen to be painted. Then the car went back to Porsche for the engine, finishing and testing. The upside is that the exclusive 500 E is less prone to rust than the other W 124 models.

The interior is completely original and in absolute top condition. The sports seats have beautiful fabric upholstery (078 grau) with leather cheeks. The 500 E was partly built at Porsche and inspiration was drawn there thanks to the iconic pepita karo upholstery. Timelessly beautiful and very suitable for sporty use. The seats are fully electrically adjustable and have hardly any signs of use. The carpets and back of the seats also look almost like new. The dashboard has wood inlays and the classic Becker Mexico 2000 radio with engine antenna.

This 500 E belongs to a private collector and has been excellently maintained. Besides the usual servicing, +/- 15, 000 km ago the complete distribution was replaced including all necessary gaskets, new steering pump filter, alternator, battery, engine wiring harness, oil cooler hoses, etc. Maintenance invoices and even many photos are present. For sale from a private person on consignment. Price is €72. 450.-

€73k ($77k USD) is a hefty ask, but it's a super rare paint color and the fabric seats are rare too. From the photos it appears to be in much better condition overall than typical, other than the sagging headliner which need replacement.

The odometer reading (245kkm / 152kmi) wouldn't bother me at all, as long as it's rust-free and there's solid documentation of service / maintenance showing the usual culprits have been remedied, and there's little to no deferred maintenance. However if you are an odometer buyer, for the same €€€ you should be able to get a much lower odo reading. Might be Pearl Black though.
