Funny literally 45 mins ago I was wondering if anyone was cool enough to order a 500E estate haha!! So nice
There were none made by Mercedes, but a handful of conversions exist. It requires either stuffing the M119 into a 124.09x wagon chassis (which is the smarterer way to do it), or chopping up a genuine 036 and splicing on the cargo area from a donor S124 (much higher risk of something going wrong with welding the sheet metal).

No idea how this particular car was done. No photos under the hood either.

:scratchchin:

The car is NOT listed at the official online shop of the company.

... and the phone number in the latest 66k ads also does not match Bethke phone numbers from contacts info on the website.

Also looked up for it here - Mercedes Oldtimer Bethke – Reparatur, Service, Restauration, Sattlerarbeiten und so weiter für Mercedes Oldtimer

E500T conversion by Bethke - Instagram post dated 2021 (see below)

..and then, they already referred to this particular 'Limited' as "..our E500 Estate 'WAS' so beautiful.." -

So I guess somebody else (Jurgen Trose, as in the pic from mobile-de?) must own it currently, and/or they might be trying to sell it on consignment (as certainly not shown on the website above at this moment)

Alberto

If this is s a legit sale and not some scammer then I think this is a downright reasonable price for such a unique car, provided that it has all the maintenance items addressed that can be expected at this mileage and provided that there is no rust. Love the color combo and the lines of this car! Blacked out taillights and aftermarket grille are questionable choices but easily reversible

I think one of these was made for Michael Schumacher back in the day. But if this were it, I am sure the seller would make it known.

Several years ago I saw in a German scrap yard in Essen, a W124 Kombi with a V8 motor. i was wondering if it was a 400E/420E Kombi, was this possible to order at the factory?
Nope. There was never any S124 wagon that left the Mercedes factories with a V8. Every single one is a conversion done post-delivery.

Starting with the 210 chassis, MB offered a V8 in the estate/wagon (S210).

Hi guys,
here might be the hidden true origin of this story...

...dormant since almost (first posted in Nov. 2016) 10 years now!

Alberto

PS. Pretty much sure the base Limited for the conversion was this one, as the same company offered it for sale before it was rear ended (for €39.5k!) ... not 100% sure about the timeline, since ad contains no date, and neither can I (momentarily) zoom into pics of instrument/odometer on present thread to compared (4-door car reading 148kkm by then - see 3rd pics)
