Gentlemen,

look at this. Seems not to be a real E 60 AMG Limited or what do you think?

http://suchen.mobile.de/auto-insera...earchInFreetext=false&negativeFeatures=EXPORT

ReVox
The data card shows it to be a code 957 car (E60) but not a Limited (code 958). The exterior color would also be a giveaway that it is not a Limited model, although it does (by the 568 paint code) appear to be original/correct for the car. It is one of the latest cars that I have in my database, in terms of any detailed information though. I will add the additional notations for this car.

Judging by other surrounding VINs' production dates, it appears that this car would have been put together at Rossle-Bau in the March, 1995 time frame. Perhaps even into April.

Thanks for raising this to our attention, ReVox. Do you mind if I take your post and make a new thread from it, so that it doesn't clutter up your own "OWNER" thread?

Cheers,
Gerry

Obviously just an interior swap :? BUT WHY ?!!:banghead:

Re: FS: 1995 E60 AMG, Signal Red/Red-Black, 67K km, EUR 60,000 (Schweinfurt, Germany)

I have had a chat with a very serious old gentleman who has both, an E60 AMG Limited and an E500 Limited. He knows the market very well and from time to time we chat via email with each other. And he mentioned that this car is no limited. The interior was done by a bumbler without any Limited knowledge. And he is right. Look at his leather parts at the door, they are strongly wrinkling which is not correct. Look the difference at the leather parts of mine.

In addition the mentioned price is not final. You have to add custom clearance of around 7k€. So all in all 67 k€ for a not real Limited. Puhhh, thats expensive.

Re: FS: 1995 E60 AMG, Signal Red/Red-Black, 67K km, EUR 60,000 (Schweinfurt, Germany)

Correct - it's a real E60, with the seats & door panels dyed Limited-style. As you noted, the door panel leather is flat on the Limited, and pleated on non-Limiteds.

Still, I'd love a signal red E60 and the modified interior wouldn't bother me. But the price seems optimistic to me.

:pc1:

Re: FS: 1995 E60 AMG, Signal Red/Red-Black, 67K km, EUR 60,000 (Schweinfurt, Germany)

Bing,

wow, that is a real one.

You can see the difference now compared to the red E 60 interior. I love this color but why is the owner selling his car? Is this the [black] car from Mosselmann? My wish was always a red interior but I am lucky with mine, honestly.

Re: FS: 1995 E60 AMG, Signal Red/Red-Black, 67K km, EUR 60,000 (Schweinfurt, Germany)

It's very cool I think....even with the odd interior (which can easily be dyed black I would think, if it were me).

It will take a special enthusiast to put down that kind of coin for it.

Re: FS: 1995 E60 AMG, Signal Red/Red-Black, 67K km, EUR 60,000 (Schweinfurt, Germany)

Hi,
Plus, I am not convinced the red of the paint matches the red of the interior...

Re: FS: 1995 E60 AMG, Signal Red/Red-Black, 67K km, EUR 60,000 (Schweinfurt, Germany)

Correct, the BLACK car mentioned in post #7 is approx $100k USD / $74k EUR, depending on the exchange rate.
Probably going to sit a long time at that price, same as the others in six digits.

Especially since it is hardly advertised. If one doesn't visit forums like this one, one will never know it is for sale.

Re: FS: 1995 E60 AMG, Signal Red/Red-Black, 67K km, EUR 60,000 (Schweinfurt, Germany)

I am sure, there might be a buyer for this price as this is one of the original "12". At least I can see that my investment last year in one of the "12" was a good one.

"Good one" is an understatement ;) , BTW Mosselmann's car is going back to Germany.

Re: FS: 1995 E60 AMG, Signal Red/Red-Black, 67K km, EUR 60,000 (Schweinfurt, Germany)

thanks a lot. yes I know and I am happy. BTW does it mean that Mosselmann's car is already sold? Maybe back to Bernhard? I am sure the car will not be long on the market and will be going soonest to an E 60 enthusiast who is only waiting for such a car.

Re: FS: 1995 E60 AMG, Signal Red/Red-Black, 67K km, EUR 60,000 (Schweinfurt, Germany)

FYI, it seems to be a myth that only 12 E60 Limited were produced... EPC datacards indicate the total number was significantly higher. I'm not sure where the 12 number originated but I wouldn't trust it as realistic.

:wormhole:

Re: FS: 1995 E60 AMG, Signal Red/Red-Black, 67K km, EUR 60,000 (Schweinfurt, Germany)

There might be different sources which are used always again. I do have my own source from an serious old gentleman who as mentioned has an E 60 AMG Limited as well as an E 500 Limited. He has had an excellent contact to someone from AMG who has confirmed that the number 126 for the E 60 AMG and the number 12 for the E 60 AMG Limited would be the correct number. When ever asking him something he has known everything. When I bought mine (I only mentioned that I bought from Bernhard W.) he told me my WDB number and the details about the previous owners and so on. I was very much impressed. Even he has individual contact to some Limited owners. What I want to say is, yes, no guarantee but a realistic estimation due to historical sources.

Re: FS: 1995 E60 AMG, Signal Red/Red-Black, 67K km, EUR 60,000 (Schweinfurt, Germany)

We are yet to see significant evidence to prove that the 126/12 figures are incorrect let alone a "Myth", on the contrary the number of cars that surfaced through the years indicate that the numbers are realistic. A number of credible sources have all confirmed these numbers..

FS: 1995 E60 AMG, Signal Red/Red-Black, 67K km, EUR 60,000 (Schweinfurt, Germ...

Well, of the (allegedly) 12 E60 limiteds , so far on top of my head I can account the following based on what was discussed here:

1. Revox
2. Mosselmanns or was
3. UK one for sale at £100k
4. One from serious old gentleman
5. One in Japan that Ceed was looking at back in 2011 I think
6. Mr motul (aka Terry) in England

So that's half! Anyone else know of any/seen/heard of ?

Re: FS: 1995 E60 AMG, Signal Red/Red-Black, 67K km, EUR 60,000 (Schweinfurt, Germany)

This post indicates there are EPC datacard for 951 total Limiteds, not the claimed 500.

And, this post claims there are at least 45 E60 Limiteds, again based on datacards with code 957+958.

I trust the EPC datacards more than marketing info or urban legends. Think about it... if only 12 were produced, what are the odds that we'd have 50% of them pop up on the interwebs already? I'm thinking the odds are between zero and none. Now, having six of them show up out of 45+, that's a lot more plausible... IMO, anyway. Wouldn't surprise me if there are a dozen squirreled away in private collections worldwide that would never pop up on any forums.

Re: FS: 1995 E60 AMG, Signal Red/Red-Black, 67K km, EUR 60,000 (Schweinfurt, Germany)

A couple of the above are duplicates, i.e. the one in UK with the R129 console, I believe is one of the six Esteban listed (one of the three from Japan).

If the datacard shows a Limited without code 957, it's not an original E60 Limited. If it has code 958 with a 6.0 engine [and no code 957] it was converted after delivery. I'm not counting converted cars.

:)

Re: FS: 1995 E60 AMG, Signal Red/Red-Black, 67K km, EUR 60,000 (Schweinfurt, Germany)

I might be able to settle this debate during the June International W124 500 event ... since we will have AMG and MB staff to confirm the numbers with "inside information".

Re: FS: 1995 E60 AMG, Signal Red/Red-Black, 67K km, EUR 60,000 (Schweinfurt, Germany)

very interesting. I know from my source that there are two brothers working as car dealers who do have each one of them and they are located in Germany. Now it would be interesting to match the WDB numbers to the countries. This is like a puzzle. Someone else with some information?

I don't know you can refute EPC data card data with 957+958. Every reference we've seen to "12" has been verbal or written recitation of verbal with no definitive authoritative source as the EPC is....

Hello

I can confirm that Mosselmanns car is sold!
I've posted more info in the specific thread for the car: http://www.500eboard.com/forums/showthread.php?3676-Mercedes-E60-AMG-LIMITED

Mosselmann phoned me on Friday night and told about the pending sale - or in fact the settled deal on it. He didn't get his asking price on NOK 549.000 (€65.200, $88.900) but it was damn close to!!

Re: FS: 1995 E60 AMG, Signal Red/Red-Black, 67K km, EUR 60,000 (Schweinfurt, Germany)

It makes me wonder if some of the reason for the relatively high sale prices (€65k / $89k USD) is due - at least in part - to the perceived exclusivity of buying one of "The Twelve".

:seesaw:

Re: FS: 1995 E60 AMG, Signal Red/Red-Black, 67K km, EUR 60,000 (Schweinfurt, Germany)

I would think so , Dave. That and because it's a 6.0 litre limited . Good low miles E500 limiteds go for anywhere between €25k to €35k in Europe . 1 in the uk with 80kmiles going for £25k at the moment and the dealer won't go below 23k ! Question is of course is the extra 10 litre of AMG worth 15k - 20k more? Probably yes if we can put to rest that there are really only 12 in the world ?!

Somebody really went crazy with the yellow paint pen. I'm guessing the car hasn't been driven much since it was dotted yellow, or the yellow would have burned off the exhaust bolts by now.

Nice car, even if it's not a real Limited. But the price (€135k!) is high IMO for a modified E60, non-Limited, at least in the current market. I'd like to see photos of the bottom of the engine, with the plast splash shield removed.

:pc1:

looks like a very nice car..and i dont think anyone either can OR DOES say its a bad car.
Maybe the price is steep..and stuff..and there might me some "holes" in the story of "what this car is"..in a way..

i did also spot some stuff that i question.
maybe i should read all the threads and for sales ads before i "comment"..but i cant be bothered.
But anyways..i spotted this..on the pics..and just found it to be a littlebit strange..about in the same manner as ALL the yellow dotting all around.Looks more like a "restored" car..than anything else..even though it most likely is a low mile car as described.
Here is my "questionmark" :)ive CIRCLED it with a YELLOW circle..just to stay in the same theme as the Yellow dotting.:) "giggles" :)

It's definitely not normal to overspray in these areas. Usually these areas, especially the rear end of the spare wheel well is painted in 7167 dark grey

This car recieved a good "cosmetics"
interesting to see that originally it has the 8,5x17et30 3pc aeros, not the actual wide 10x17 rear...
But this is only a detail

So the document says, that the car was send to AMG by order of Mercedes-Benz for the conversion. Before initial registration or sales of the vehicle. Vehicle was ready for shipment on May 1995. No amendment in the datas.
As per my knowledge all E60 have been retrofitted at AMG means AMG components have not been delivered to the production line. This was standard till the W210. There pre assembled bodies arrived, where the drive train was then fitted at Affalterbach...
