Here are the faults we are getting, very hard shift into drive and park. The connector is alittle wet, but very light compared to most. If anyone has any advice or can lead me in a direction. thanks Jeff-

Codes seem to indicate one of the six solenoids are bad, although I'm not sure if that particular one would cause harsh shifting. The CAN fault may be a fluke.

Has the conductor plate been replaced yet? Fluid/filter changed or is it the original factory "yellow" lifetime juice?

:klink:

original fluid and conductor plate, that what we were thinking fluid/ filter and conductor plate, but usually we will see other faults or speed sensor faults when it's a conductor plate.

I'd throw a plate at it... I take it you checked the module for any signs of fluid...could be Old...

How many miles? Service history? How Nasty was the fluid? any metal bits?

jono

Edit:

holy hell..original fluid??!? I sure hope this car has under 50K on the clock......

So one of the screws was fed up for the cover to the control units, and we did find alittle oil on the connector at the trans module (very little) the harness is dry. We double checked the fluid color and it's not burn at all. Should I just clean the connector and try to clear codes test drive.

No way it's original If it's not burnt @ all.

I'd still do a conductor plate...it's a consumable item in a .6
Give those solenoids a good clean/cycle then a few times before you re-install.

Mobile...pls excuse typos and other oddities outside my norm....

Lots of brake clean/12v's and a ground... Cycle and spray/spray and cycle!

Mobile...pls excuse typos and other oddities outside my norm....

If the connector and module have alittle oil how concern should I be? When we first looked, it looked dry, but when we pulled it apart to test the ohm readings at pin 17 and I think 38 (sorry at home now) that's when we noticed the light oil (not soaked at all) again the plug at the trans was dry also. Jono maybe the fluid was done, the car was inherited to the current owner and this is the first time it's been in, we normally work on his BMWs.

ok I was being to gentle with it felt like I was going to break it, I do it in the morning, I sprayed it and let it sit upside down to see what comes out.

Replace the tcc solenoid if you are in there. They go bad but I do not think that is your problem. If it was sticking then it would stall the engine. Also if the vbody is original it could be shot. How does it shift when driving?

After cleaning out the module connector, pins 17 and 38 were alittle wet, codes cleared and car started shifting better, we decided to go ahead and replace the plug connector, filter and conductor plate with fresh fluid.
