Shifting hard to 4th gear

Hi all,
I have a problem with my 500E. For a while now it smashes in the 4th gear like an AMG Speedshift. 1-2 and 2-3 are very smooth, no slipping no nothing. Recently changed Oil and filter (Yes drained converter too). It didnt do any difference to 3-4 shifting. Kickdown is working. I have tried adjusting the bowden cable but all it does is change the gearing points. At 3/4 or full throttle it shifts smooth in all gears. Also when i am driving 50-60 km/h and its still in 3rd, then i release the throttle it hammers in the 4th gear..
Should i try to adjust the regulator pressure down a little bit?
Any suggestions?

I would remove the K2 piston & spring train, and inspect it for damage or debris. If it looks completely normal and move smoothly in the bore, I'm not sure what would cause this.

How many miles/km's on the transmission? Did the problem appear gradually or did it happen "overnight"?

:detective:

330.000 km. I've only had this car in 7 months and allways been like that since i bought it. 🤔 Even reverse is engaging instantly without delay, so i assume the transmission must have been rebuild t some point.

I'd definitely check the K2 piston/springs.

Does the shifting improve when the transmission is fully hot? Or does it shift hard regardless of ATF temperature? How are the full-throttle upshifts for 1-2, 2-3, and 3-4?

You could try adjusting the vacuum modulator softer, however you will need to verify the other upshifts do not flare/slip after adjusting.

When The ATF is cold it shifts to 4th softer. At Full throttle upshifts are good and smooth without flare and they all feel the same. I will check K2 Springs after the summer holidays. :)
