500E Board GTG/Blue Ridge Mercedes Grand opening of our new digs...:)

Happy New year y'all!

On this cold/dreary day (@least here in the Atl) I figured it's a good time to start planning for our Grand Opening of the new facility, we're thinking something in the Early spring. Warm enough that we should have nice weather, not so cold for those from down south and a pleasant respite for those of y'all up north.

Right now only april 9th through the 15th is off the table.

Baring that, late march..early or late april/early may. Really just looking to get a feel for a time frame that works best for the largest contingent. Once we get some weekends settled up I'll see about getting some poll up...Democracy all the way, 'Merica!


We're pretty darn excited...those who visited me @ the old shop will know it was @ Best rather constraining and limited in it's appeal. You'll find this new place quite the Opposite.

The more the merrier, we'll be bringing out All the interesting Tin we can muster...if weather permits we have some great day drives up into the N GA mtn's we can all partake in...Road Atlanta is usually doing something Interesting that time of year as well..in short, we have options to keep the weekend Interesting!

Plenty of parking, food, drink and some Damn Fine coffee if I do say so..

Looking forward to it! Last two weekends in April would probably work for me. That is also a good time for the folks like me coming from up north. Low chance of snow. A track day sounds great but still a possibility of snow in mid-March which would keep my car in the garage.

Got that weekend reserved on the calendar. As it gets a bit closer, perhaps some of the folks from up north might see about caravanning down (or back up). That would be a sight . . . seeing half-a-dozen (or more) E500E's zipping down I-95/I-85.

Indeed it would be great to join this years 500E gathering. I haven't been too active on this forum lately but looking forward to getting involved and meeting you all this spring. The last time the 500E was out was to Ault Park Concours in Cincinnati, she's ready for another highway roll!

I am extremely bummed out that I won't be able to make the GTG at the end of April.
I have NO weekends off, but may be able to negotiate something.
Jono has my 93' 500E, that needs an evaporator, at his shop.
At least the car will make it.

Jono is such a long ways from SoCal. It's tough to make a dedicated trip. I would have loved to meet some of you East Coast members especially Jono. He is always handing out advise to us all.

To bad it's not a little earlier. I will be landing in Miami on April 10 and will be touring around Florida and not sure yet but maybe Georgia until the 24th to see what we can. There is an aweful lot down there for tourists to do.

Anyway, on the 24th we board the Celebrity Equinox for 11 day Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico cruise that stops in New Orleans for a 3 day visit to the Jazz Festival. Let me be clear, I am not a big jazz fan but I grew up in NO and haven't been down since before Katrina. Just want to visit and see friends.

Here are the details:

We're excited to have y'all come by this Spring for a celebratory weekend filled with all things Mercedes.

Starting on Saturday morning the 28th of April, we'll have a collection of Interesting, rare and unique examples of your favourite chassis on display. The facility also has Ample space for everyone to park and show off their own Personal cars...

There will be catered food and drink available throughout the day and we'll of course be available for questions throughout.

For those that would like to come along, Sunday we'll make a days drive into the north Georgia Mountain roads with a stop over for a proper lunch along the way.

Not at all, she's not very demanding but she does want a Tesla for her next car...maybe in a year or three. I'd prefer to wait until our son is out of college...
