The wheel size/offsets above are near perfect for the 500E. The rear is slightly aggressive.

However the front tire size is smaller than normal... should be 245 front matched with 275 rear.

This is the set listed recently on MBMarket, ended RNM / BidTo... link here.

@TOPnotch55,
If you intend to drive on the street I think you’ll be disappointed with a 19” Rim & Tire setup. It is IMOP and others on this board that 19s will give you a pretty rough ride. If all you do is show the car 19s would be OK some really look nice but for a daily driver I’d stay away from them.

I run 18s w/ 245s & 275s Michelin Super Sports. This is my second set of Michelins and I’m due for another set. The 1st set came w/ the takeoff wheels from a 2004 SL500 and the sizes were 255s & 285s and rode much harder and got noisier as they aged. I got rid of them at 25K miles and went down 1 size on the 2nd set. Due to better tire technology the Super Sports were perfect. I would expect no less and an even better ride from a new set.

Anyway, whatever you decide buy a premium set of tires. Michelin or Continental or equivalent. Cheap tires won’t help the ride.

Choose Wisely

18's look good on the E500E because the fender opening is slightly larger, AND shaped slightly different, vs standard 124 fenders. This is why the 500E can generally use 1" larger diameter wheels vs standard 124 (just like the stock factory wheels were 1" larger vs standard 124).

I personally have 17's and 18's on my 500E's, but my standard 124's generally have 16's (one on 17's).

:nos:

Same wheels but with 245/40-18s on the front and 275/35-18s on rear.:)
i had same setup in the rear when i bought the car but the rear wheel well looked a little bit shallow, and i went with 275/45, i like it better, it looks more filled up and beefy
