Is your oil pressure sending unit old or original? They can read lower than actual if worn out. A new OE/OEM Hella/VDO unit could read higher.

The oil pressure switch** sensor on the M119, thankfully, is a rather easy job to replace. Symptoms of a failing oil pressure sensor are low or no pressure indicated on the gauge (below 0.5-0.75 bar when the engine oil is hot); not jumping to the 3-bar mark when the gas pedal is pressed, and...
Replace with OE/OEM, it's good preventive maintenance. I've had to replace that sensor on almost all of my cars.

The sensor must be OE (Genuine Mercedes) or OEM (Hella/VDO).
Not sure about pricing where you live, but in USA the OE is ~$75 and aftermarket ~$60:
