722.6 transmission

Which 5 speed transmissions will work in our cars? 400e for me, I have a lead on a 5 speed 722.6 from a 500sl… will this work?

500SL was 1990-1993 only and had a 722.3 transmission.

Assuming you mean SL500, it depends what year SL500. Needs to be from a 1996-1998 SL500 with M119 engine to have the correct bellhousing on the 722.6 transmission. The S420 and S500 (from 1996-1999) would also be donors. Note the years are not the same between 129 and 140. Finally, the 1997 E420 also had an M119 with 722.6 transmission.

I assume you know this isn't a simple bolt-in upgrade...
