a/c hose

While removing the tandem pump to change the upper timing chain guide found this hose that does not look very good.

There was no leaks but it has like holes and bubbles in the rubber.
Is this rubber just isolating a inner metal tube?
Or is the rubber the tube itself and should be replaced?

It's just a normal rubber AC hose. If cost of new is too high, a local AC shop should be able to replace the rubber section of the hose for relatively low cost.

Yes I saw this is a expensive part.

After putting all the engine back together and recharge the a/c system I hace realized the compressor does not engage.
At first I thought I had switched the wires when reinstalling the compressor. Yesterday I lifted the car and could access to the connector plug. The wires are in the right position. But there's no power in any of them.
I've checked the fuses, even the 4 in base module) and all seem to be fine.
Any clue where should I follow?

My thought is either the compressor is failing wich I can test wiring it directly to the battery.
Or it cold be the base module but I don't kmow how to test it.

The compressor is working. I've fed it directly from battery and the clutch engages.

I've also tested the resistor and there's no power. But maybe that's normal. I'm quite lost

Possibilities are the BM (base module), the HVAC pushbutton unit, or one of the inputs to the BM (speed sensor, pressure sensor).

Have you checked codes on the BM yet? Or tried swapping a different BM, if one is available?

This issue has been solved by magic. When reassembled everything and started the car again last week a/c compressor engaged and cold air coming out from the vents.

Maybe one of the connectors had steering oil inside coming from the S hose leak...
