A nice flashback for Klink & Clark (Clank)

About 16-17 years ago, when I was just starting to get into this Mercedes-Benz thing (this was pre-GVZ Euro Tour days), I was over in Germany at the Veterama (one of the larger European autojumbles / swap meets for oldtimer cars of all marques) and an acquaintance offered to sell me a complete set of MB factory microfiche for about $100.

I jumped on it, figuring they would come in handy, but also knowing that had the EPC and related info on CD for when I needed it.

I have been out totally cleaning my garage shop from stem to stern for the past few nights, and came across my binder of microfiche, which I'd carefully stuck away when we moved in almost 6 years ago.

Looking through it brought back some memories....it's good from the W114/115 all the way through the W202, and has all manuals and chassis including modern ones like the R129 and W140.

As a bonus, I came across the special "addendum" W124.034/036 and AMG SA microfiche as well.

Should be a bit of a trip down memory lane for Vader and Klink....

Enjoy!

Cheers,
Gerry

That reminds me of one of my first jobs. I was a parts runner for the Mercedes/Datsun dealer in Reno, Nevada when I was about 18 years old. Yes, they sold Mercedes and Datsun. I can remember watching the parts guys pulling out the microfiche to look up parts. I also remember doing the annual inventory counting every tiny part.

That's all we had when I started. No computers

But all of the microfiche are now on StarTek info under "Legacy Data"
