Advice on cordless ratchets

I want to purchase a cordless ratchet and looking for advice. I'm talking about the electric lithium battery operated type. I want one that will last a few years but not break the bank.

Thanks.

Dave's Uncle Kent uses them in some of his videos. Looks like he uses the Milwaukee Tools ones?

I see a lot of guys using 1/4" drill style impact drivers. Bosch is one of the ones I see a lot of.

I have a Hilti one that is a lot more expensive, but very nice. You have to be careful not to over torque the fastener and shear it off.

The ratchet can get into tighter places, but I have always found a way to avoid that. The drill style has many other uses, so is my preference.

I've been wanting one of these too but not quite ready to spend the money. The Milwaukee seems like the best value.

our shop is full of electric ratchets, 2 1/4' an 2 3/8's. Electric impact 1/4-1/2. They are all Matco and I couldn't be happier with them.

Do try to clean the innards every now and again, they collect metallic swarth which eventually shorts them out...high pressure brake clean/air gun does the trick well.

Just the normal ones that come with...we have multiples of the small ones which we use the most. They do charge quickly....and if we are in a total pickle we still have our full assortment of air tools:)

Just as a note. Home depot.com has the Milwaukee M12's where you get a free battery. Search under "M12 battery" and you will see the specials which come with the 2.0amp battery. Funny those don't show up when you search ratchets.

Good find, Michael. I wish I had some money left to buy one plus an M12/M18 combo charger. Already spent too much this season!

I've got 2 chargers already. Kids and my wife use the M12 drill set(came w 2 batteries and charger for $99 at HD), and I use the M18 drill and impact drill.
