Snap-On LED Worklight

2000 Lumens
25Watts
46 LEDs
5000K Color Temp
120V ~ 60Hz
6ft (1.8m) Cord Length

A conscientious family member moved closer to the top of my estate distribution list with this smart gift which was immediately pressed into service. Sporting LED technology, this is the most impressive worklight I’ve used in quite a while. It is super light-weight, super bright, consumes minimal electricity & generates hardly any heat.

A flick of its back-mounted dust-protected toggle switch lights up the bowels of the darkest worksite & looks darn good in doing so. I’ve added a matching heavy duty power cord to double its range.

According the the Amazon reviews, these are sometimes available at Costco. Guess I'm making a stop today on my way to work, thanks!

Thanks for the recommendation. I have been needing some good light for my garage(s). Just ordered it and, if I like it, will order more.

This is great, thanks for sharing. You don't know how many times, with my portable halogen work-light, I've:

  • burned myself on radiated heat or by accidentally bumping/touching light with my arm or hand
  • spilled liquids such as ATF and oil and brake cleaner on the glass lens, and having it "burn off" in a cloud of smoke
  • had the cheap Chinese halogen bulb fail right in the middle of a critical process, leaving me cursing in the dark until I got a new bulb installed

We just got a new Costco in our township a couple of months ago, so I'm going to go check this out.

Cheers,
Gerry

Be careful & don't get carried away. I'm hesitant to open my garage door this coming Spring. This was the scene last year...

...and now add the Snap-On LED worklight to the stable! I'm trembling at the thought. :hump::hearts:

Yep, my Costco in Carlsbad has them. I haven't bought one yet though...

Good points. This item is definitely a much safer & (I perceive) more reliable setup.

A downside for some: smokers can't light-up off the LED cover glass.:hehehe:

I'll bet Maui's halogen light glass lens is quite brown from his Cubans....

I'll admit a series of small fires have given the man cave (shop) that mushroom glow. Once year I have to wipe the brown haze from the TV screen.

I have some halogens but they are big and get hot. Yesterday I had to drag around my trusty, old fashioned drop light as I changed the transmission fluid and filter on the wagon. The old drop light has served me well even though I've ripped the cord off on several occasions and poured oil and transmission fluid in it numerous times. Smoke is often seen swirling off the bulb. I love the smell of burning oil in the morning.

I just ordered one of these LED's from Amazon. Looks like the cat's meow. We'll see how long until it achieves the mushroom glow.

Many a valuable car, and even a collection or two, have burnt to the ground, the fire started by a hot work light. Don't be that guy...
:shocking:

I happened to see it at Costco last week and picked one up.
WOW - that sucker puts out some light!
Only problem is aiming it so it doesn't shine in your eyes - blinding...

. . . burned myself on radiated heat or by accidentally bumping/touching light with my arm or hand . . .

Perhaps for all of you living in temperate climates they're more hazard than help but halogens provide me with the added benefit of serving as a heat source in my otherwise unheated garage. So even when it's below freezing outside, after a couple of hours with two lights on and with the garage doors down, its nice and toasty inside!
:fun:

I have some LED lights like this in my garage. A 20watt and a 50watt. I did take out both the glass and reflector on both lights. painted the reflector matt white and sanded down the glass too defuse the light some and spread it a bit better than form the factory. Become much better at spreading the light. Instead of all the light in a single spot. My lights only has a single LED. So this with multiple might be better.

*edit. Do see now that it has a white reflector. Mine off brand had chrome.

Thanks for finding the link, Eric. I couldn't find the item from my mobile phone. That's the same item number I purchased today. Weird that the price is different though, I did not see any markdowns on the price tag, which Costco will usually show. Maybe it's just different pricing in store versus online. Another Amazon reviewer mentioned the same price I paid.

I'm not sure of the price or place my light was purchased, but if you compare my pics with those in the amazon/costco links, you will see slight design/color differences although displaying the same mfr item# 922261.

Possibly just batch-run variation among multiple manufacturing locations.

Costco is the primary importer, so anyone else offering the item would most likely provide it for a higher price. Hopefully the price difference reflects just that, a good overstock deal or decreased mfg costs & not a cheapened-down product.

My worklight feels well-made & fairly robust. I'm very satisfied with its performance so far.

Once again the list comes through !!!

My local COSTCO has them in stock so I picked up one today.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Ron

:update:

I've confirmed my worklight was obtained thru amazon. That's a real nice price offering for those living near a costco.

I've been using mine everyday of this past week. It kicks Darkness's ass. I'll probably double-up with another one somewhere down the road.

That reminds me. I need to stop at Costco on the way home tonight. Thanks.

Picked one up. That is a very bright light.

I finally just got one of these lights through Amazon.com. Looking forward to using it on my upcoming timing chain replacement job on the 560SEC.

I can already tell it's going to beat the living hell out of my old, super hot worklamp. Can't tell you how many times I've burned myself or had to inhale fumes of various liquids that spilled onto the glass face of that lamp and burned off from the heat.

Amazon just dropped the price about $5.

I'm using mine this weekend as a sort of permanent-flash in a homemade photo booth I put together for my brother's wedding. It pretty nifty, if I do say so myself.
