Aftermarket radio wiring question (regarding JVC and Blaupunkt)

Hey guys,
I need some help regarding aftermarket radios!

Can somebody tell me if JVC, MB and Blaupunkt share the same connections, or do I need to change the wiring going from JVC to Blaupunkt or from JVC to MB?
Also, is there a difference between older (10-15 years old) and new Blaupunkt radios?

As you might guess, I am totally new to working on stereo systems... :doof:

I am in the process of removing a JVC system and installing the original Mercedes Becker system. Its a pre-facelift car so they had routed wiring for the rear speakers and cut the connectors of the front speakers. The speakers on the Becker mexico are actually connected to the fader switch rather that the radio.

Is your car a facelift or pre-facelift?

I believe, and I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong, that facelift models use a standard ISO connection setup with three connectors, one for power, another for audio, and the last for CD changer functions. See the standard here.

Pretty much all aftermarket radios follow this connector arrangement, and if not, adapters are available.

USA facelift (1994-95 USA model years) 124's all had 1492 head units, which did standardize the connectors similar to many aftermarket Becker/H-K/etc making many of those units plug+play... except for the CD changer, as the factory unit pinouts were fewer/larger vs the aftermarket setups.

That said, across the pond I'm not sure if all facelift 124's had the same connectors or not. If so, it sure would make things easier.

Factory MB/Becker 1492 pinouts shown below.

@195910, @LWB250 and @gsxr,
thank you all very much for the information! (y)
Both of the cars are 2nd facelift. One came with a MB Exquisit unit and the other one without factory radio (only with wiring, was common in Europe).
Should be an easy change then!
