am i the only guy who thinks this is a deal?

That doesn't look like light damage, IMO
I suspect the car went up and over something like a curb. The muffler tips and bottom of the rear bumper skin are chewed up pretty nicely.
So you've got the front end, the right side, the rear end and possibly the chassis and exhaust. The wheels are stuffed, too.
Maybe theres some value in the interior and the drivetrain?

What level of Dante Alighieri's Inferno is this sitting at with the outside temperature @ 185F?

probably the temp sender that' is probably still attached to the bumper. I would not be surprised if the damage to the rear bumper is from the fork lifts that they use at copart.

Buddy that is a goner, most probably flew over the curbs destroying everything below :(
Notice the bumper reinforcement (detachable frame head) is bent all the way back on the right side.

Not worth saving IMHO

I'm also immediatly suspect of any car that someone has installed crap chinese wheels on..that car is going to need some serious love... :(

This car has showed up on copart about 8 times so far, the seller wants $6k and has listed this as a buy it now price. In my mind, the damage is very light and E55 wagons are as rare as chicken lips. What am i missing?

Only if you need another project. The people who want ultra rare E55 estates only want non-wrecked examples. So unless you’re going to keep it, and you really need more work to do, it’s probably not worth what it cost to list it. It’s maybe a worthwhile project for a bored guy who’s going to keep it. But for resale, nah. For a busy guy who already has a 55k, nah.

My $.02

maw

What maw said. If you can do all the body work yourself AND plan to keep it as a personal car, and have lots of time & money to burn, and have always wanted an E55 estate... sure.

If you have any fantasy of re-selling this for profit, run away. FAST.
