Yes sir, a Black Series. I love it but the rims make it look like one of my kids matchbox cars, it really does. The participant parking area was quite the MB/AMG show...I'll post some more pix. Even a sweet C126 time machine.

These cars took a beating...

Actually, they have not passed the 30 years age requirement for Oldtimers. They are still YoungTimers.

Though its an Unquestionable Oldtimer Classic status in less than 10 years time.

A few people after the event did make some kind comments as we walked around chatting/tailgating. I think tho most people didn't even know what the 500E is/represents. No biggy...I wasn't there to collect their adulation.

It must have been filthy rich day and I didn't get the memo not to come....peoples' watches were worth more than my car !

That C126 is nice looking ! Too bad it looks to have knock-off Monoblocks. Can't stand that.

How far is Lime Rock from you, Jimbo?

C126

It had what looked like a pretty good recent re-paint. The car def needed a kinder offset to push out the rims more flush with the fenders. But that's just me and heck, the car did stand out and look good. You have the eagle eye Gerry, I didn't notice that the rims were fakes !

I'm a lil' over an hour away from the track. The drive from my house is great too, mostly all country backroads.

Agree -- an offset of ET11-13 is optimal for the C126 (the Lorinser RS90 monos I have on my coupe are ET11s). You can tell that coupe's monos are fake because the faces of them are rather curved. It's an unusual color, but it actually works. That car appears to be lowered too, something that really improves the handling and appearance of the C126. Do you happen to have a larger version of that C126 photo ?!?

An hour away? By Texas standards that's literally right next door! But King Ranch here is larger than the entire state of Rhode Island, so it's all relative ;)

Cheers,
Gerry

C126

I actually have a few more pix of the car that are over 5MB that I couldn't upload to my hosting site b/c they were too big....shoot me your email and I'll be happy to forward them to you.

Dooode, I totally know what you are saying there G...when I lived on Jack Warren's ranch in Tomball , I remember it took me well over an hour just to get to the South part of Houston from the North ! It is all relative...I think there are more people in Houston alone than in the entire Connecticut....and its city limits are about the size of CT too.

a few more shots...

...once everyone shut up for a second; you could hear the hot aluminum engines ticking away

this car scoffs at the 500Es rarity...its 1 of 67 wagons in 2007 for the USA, and no wonder; it looks terrible in white.

Tomball, yep. I pass through Tomball on the way to and from work every day. FM 2978 and FM 2920. Tomball's pretty much my backyard.... didn't know you lived there. Coolness.

For me to get to say Katy or Sugar Land ... 45 minutes minimum. Houston Galleria is 40 minutes from The Woodlands. Getting out to the G-Man's pad is about 35 minutes and he's physically not that distant from me.....

Cheers,
Gerry

The larger photos Jimbo sent me actually show the car DOES have AMG Monoblock IIs. He must have spacers from hell behind them ;-)
