Another W126 SEC widebody

ahh..the Russo car..built in the backyard, modified knock off widebody kit w/ owner mods to boot.

when the hood pops like that it usually pulls the inner mounting point of the hinges in which requires removing the fenders etc to sort....bloody PITA, ask me how I know...;-)

That hood is toast, and he'll likely need new hinges too. Aluminum hoods on the SECs can't be repaired like he thinks/says it can. It needs a new (>$3K from MB) hood or a replacement used and painted hood. Even that will likely be pushing $1K with proper prep & paint including the $300-500 acquisition cost. I think the starting price of the $8K would be generous for this car if he actually were to get it. Unfortunately he's one of those types who thinks he really has a $20-30K "gem".

For GSXR: this car has the extremely rare "cream mushroom" interior which is also found on select 500Es (and I have it in my 560SEC as well). Really an excellent color although I think Palomino (which is a bit darker) goes better with the red exterior.

Cheers,
Gerry
