Another wrecked one

$5k is too much, you can get a complete one for that much if you're patient. I'd be more interested at $2-$3k. Clean title or salvage title? Records? Any major work done (wiring harness, ETA, SLS, p/s pump rebuild, etc)?

:wormhole:

I was kinda thinking $2K max, but that could be well under what the seller might accept. Anybody have a line on a salvage fender and front bumper assembly?

I agree. There's a guy in SoCal parting a 500E but his prices are awfully high... fenders are $650 each on eBay, and I'm not sure if the bumper is available:

Also try David Hendy in the northeast (NY?), he was parting a couple of 500's. Looks like he has the driver's fender for $450 OBO on eBay, possibly less off eBay:

There's a cheap fixer-upper fender on eBay, in the Bay area, CA:

FYI, the left fender is p/n 124-880-25-18, current MSRP is $760, available brand new from Parts.com for about $500 total including shipping to your door. Given that, I wouldn't want to pay much for a used one, unless it included a good trim / moulding piece. The moulding is p/n 124-690-89-40, current MSRP $204, Parts.com is $140 plus S&H.

The bumper is far more expensive of course, and requires the impact strip, fog lights, etc which all add up fast!

another one with zero 500e background

The 500 E came fully-loaded, with the only options available to the buyer being a dealer-installed CD changer (it has). It was called the "Wolf in Sheep's Clothing" , performance tests of the day yielded 0–60 mph times of 5.5 sec. Top speed is governed at 155mph

The SoCal seller actually has a decent price for the complete front bumper ($750 / obo), and it's even the right color. Might be worth checking into:

Looks like it will at least need new fog lights, but those are avaialble aftermarket for ~$150/ea, IIRC. Not sure why shipping is so high, the front bumper is still small enough to ship FedEx Ground, should only be $100-$150 depending on the destination zip... no need for it to go via freight, and too large to go USPS as the listing says. I've boxed & shipped front bumpers before. It's the rear bumper that is oversize and has to either go freight or Greydog. Maybe he's trying to pad his profits with shipping fees.

This car was listed over on peachparts forum about a week ago. The seller was just looking for someone to make an offer. I believe he is motivated to negotiate. He stated the car has some additional problems such as hail damage and a tear in the drivers seat. I believe he also stated the frame was bent.

I have two perfect front fenders with trim for $450 each.
If your car is diamond schwartz you would not even have to paint them.
