Armrest / seat bolster wiggle

Hi guys --- this is my first w124 so I have no previous experience w/ w124s ----
Is the armrest supposed to wiggle so much?

https://youtu.be/-9fp02wCNI8

Note that the armrest mechanism itself seems not to be moving --- it is securely bolted to the seat. It seems that when the armrest is folded down that my left hand, with no real force, is able to wiggle the arm rest back and forth ---- and it seems the seat bolster itself is wiggling.

May I ask --- is this normal?

Thanks.

hmm does not seam noraml mine does not wiggle although it is arched inward which is bothering me. I would like to know if this is because the fram inside the seat is bent or is there an easy fix to straighten the armrest out ?

I have the same issue. I have searched the board to see if anyone else has had this issue and how they resolved it but have been unable to find any posts related to it.

Any updates on what you found on this?

Hi Gerry ---- was the question directed at me? Apologies for the tardy reply. Well, after taking the upholstery off, I was presented with the below (photograph). Nothing really seemed out of order. I tightened up the two philips screws at the left but there really wasn't that much to tighten up. 1/16 of a turn at best. It made the wiggle maybe 20% better. I think the wiggle is really just flex in the metal seat frame that is exacerbated when the armrest is in the down because it acts as a lever. When the armrest is up, it is really hard to get it to wiggle.

Yep, thanks, I was just wondering what happened and how/if this was resolved. Sounds like you did the best you could on it. And yes, there is some inherent wiggle for the very reason you mention. Just can't be eliminated completely.
