Hi. My E500 94' start to go in Limp mode more and more often.

Then i got som tip to check some things.

First upper engine harness, this was changed in 2002, the date on label on the harness say that.

And then i check trottlevalve/trottle actuator, have been changed in 2004, date on label.

Then i should try start the cold engine, and check that the engine revs up to 11-1200rpm once it start(chocke). That do the engine not, so then my friend recomded to try with another EGAS module, and i do. Then the engine revs automatic fore a moment when it starts, and the engine runs very fine. No problem after i changed the EGASmodule.

First, you need to pull, then clear, then drive the car a couple hundred miles, then pull codes from the CAN computers.

Have you considered the neutral safety switch? This is often the culprit of LHM as well.

All well documented here on the forum. Fresh computer diagnostic codes (after you clear the codes that are in the system now) will tell you a lot. If you don’t have a code reader, you are basically just guessing.

Yes it was. I think when the trottle actuator blow/was damaged, then EGAS may get bad also. I dont know, but bad EGASmodule make much problem and it not so easy to troubleshoot. Car go nice 30minutes before the ASR lamp show up and it go in Limp Mode.
