ASR Throttle Actuator Problem 1995 e420

When turning the key on before starting the throttle body is making super load screeching sounds and ASR light is on and I cannot get it to go away. Fault codes 6-30, 7-2,17-18, and 19-6. The unit in the car was rebuilt in 2012. I can read the part number 408.225/3/6 but the MB part number is not visible. This weas rebuilt in 2012 by BBA Remanufacturing. Should I send it to them or someone else for a rebuild or is there a new or good used part out there?
Also wondering how difficult it will be to do the part switch. I do love driving this car when it is working well.

If the screeching is super loud it sounds like you have a bad ETA. AFAIK the individual parts inside the ETA are not available. Don Roden used to be our go-to guy for ETA rebuilds but unfortunately he retired. He is definitely missed. I think some members here have used Victor at Repair Your Mercedes. You might also look on eBay for an ETA that was manufactured after the units with the bad wire insulation (the @gsxr will know the date). In the event you need to swap the ETA here’s a link on the job.

 
+1 for Victor as the top place I'd recommend today.

Good used ones are hard to confirm, because although the wiring may be fine, internal components wear out. You want both good wiring AND also low miles (more specifically, low hours). Generally there is no way to tell the latter.
